The location is fabulous, gorgeous views.... and I've had a few things from the lunch menu that were decent. However, we recently went there for dinner and it was a disaster.
First off, don't order the macaroni & cheese appetizer unless you want Kraft boxed macaroni & cheese with a few bacon bits thrown on top. Really. I expect a little more from a golf course. Perhaps learn how to make a basic bechamel sauce, add some grated cheddar to it, cook up some real elbow macaroni. Pretty simple to make good mac & cheese.
Secondly, a rare steak should be rare, meaning with pink in the middle. My "rare" steak was well done, cooked all the way through. The only thing rare about it was the supposed blue cheese butter that was to accompany it. No where to be found.
The fries were good. Nice and crispy and not too greasy.
The specials menu included a "fisherman's platter", which was our other entrée. OMG, I've had better at Long John Silver. Everything was from a box. Nothing handmade about it. No hand-battered fish. Tiny, cheap, greasy popcorn shrimp. Dry hush puppies. Nothing was seasoned at all. All I can say about it was it was a lot of fried "stuff", and I had major heartburn for the next 18 hours.
Really sad that we probably will never go...
Read moreWent on Saturday evening and was a horrendous experience. First of all ordered margaritas if you like a glass of ice and very little else then this is the place for you. Ordered a appetizer of calamari that obviously came out of a bag and was frozen so strike two. For the main course had a special of jumbo shrimp and angel hair pasta. Was described as spicy the only thing I could taste was a little pepper. The shrimp was just ok but better than the pasta can you say bland. My lady had the chicken marsala same song different verse bland with no seasoning. The one thing that was the only saving grace is the server was hustling like there was no tomorrow and very courteous. Did I mention also terribly understaffed for a Saturday night. Honestly will not go back hadn't been there in years but thought we would give it a chance. Absolutely wrong decision and the total bill was $82.90 felt like someone reached in my wallet and flat out stole from me. I have no problem paying for a good meal and in fact enjoy it. But this was the worse meal I have had in a long time feel totally taken advantage of. I could got something better at Applebees or Red Robin for probably...
Read moreAs a Friday night tradition we go out with an amazing group of friends. Picking different restaurants across the Valley. Tonight we chose The Talon grill at Eagle Point. Horrible experience tonight. Friday 6:30pm. Waitress never took my husband and I's drink order he finally went to the bar to order. Wanted the prime rib as advertised on their website for Fri and Sat. No prime rib. So I ordered the special written on their board and waitress came back and said they stopped serving that at 5 so it was unavailable. Husband and i decided on fish and chips only to have the waitress come back out yet again and tell us this was sold out. They already have a very small menu to begin with so choosing again was not an option for us. Husband ordered another beer was never brought out until a second waitress asked if he needed anything, he said the beer I ordered. So as the rest of our party got their food and we chose to leave. Will definitely never...
