Brunch plans landed us at Janet's Cafe on this beautiful Sunday morning. First, I would like to say, if I could have given this place more than 5 stars I would have! I had the most wonderful dining experience here. This joint was packed! People waiting outside and inside. There was people everywhere! My sister and I waited for 45 minutes and it was worth the wait!
Walking in, I noticed how charming the venue is. From the wood, to the stunning green seats to the decor. It was all so pretty, a country rustic feel. Even though it was so chaotic and busy, it didn't feel claustrophobic. You had a comfortable amount of space between each table.
Upon getting sat, the sweetest young lady (she had to be 11/12) grabbing our drink order. She went and got us waters as another server dropped off fresh coffee for us. Wyatt took care of us tonight and I can't express what an amazing job he did! With all the tables he was serving, he always checked up on us. Our coffee cups never ran dry. Anything else we needed, Wyatt was on top of it!
I ordered bacon and eggs with country potatoes. It also came with a side of sourdough toast. You would think you can't really screw up breakfast but after eating here, some of the joints downtown need to step their game up! My eggs were fried hard! The bacon was cooked perfectly. The sourdough toast was delicious! It was accidentally overly toasted but I honestly like my toast that way! They weren't stingy with buttering the toast! The star of the meal was the country potatoes! They were sooooooo good! Perfectly seasoned and prepared. I enjoyed the crunchiness of the exterior of the potatoes while the middle was soft. With the added sweetness of the onions and peppers, it was great mix of sweet and savory. I topped them bad boys with country gravy! So delicious!
From start to finish, I can honestly say this was the most perfect brunch. Food was fantastic. My server and staff were fabulous! The venue was so comfortable and welcoming. I hope everyone in the valley gets to...
Read moreJanet's Café, Eagle 12 N Fisher Park Way, Eagle ID In the previously closed Dickie's BBQ off Highway 44 across from the Eagle Island entrance, take the roundabout and turn East. Note: no exterior signage facing State Street/44 Just opened a few weeks ago, this location is part of a small 4 unit chain out of the San Diego/El Cajon area The owners had moved to Eagle a couple of years ago and were looking for a spot. The only signage is on the front doors right now. Obviously the area was hungry for another Eagle breakfast spot besides the Griddle and the nine chain Squeeze In, or the more formal Rembrandts. Within days, without advertising, it is filling up for breakfast and lunch, starting at 7 am and ending the day at 2:30 pm. Two dining areas, one with tables and chairs, the other adds booths. While our group of eight, planned ahead last week, to arrive today at 11:15 by 11:00 it was full. Turned out to be the first week of school and frazzled parents were ready for a meal break. I thought the staff handled the heavy volume very efficiently, kept up with our requests for beverages, refills and timed getting silverware and napkins out before the meals arrived, kept tables cleaned promptly, and figured out separate checks easily. My breakfast burrito, Southwest style came with refried beans, scrambled eggs and chorizo and large chunks of skinless fresh potatoes, $16.95. A separate two shot latte was $5. The Chicken Caesar wrap was just as massive. Whole pies, made in house are $22, and large slices to go were $6.50. Snuck a bite before putting the apple crumb and cherry away at home, will comment later. The décor is pretty cute, everything looks new and clean inside, glass walls on two sides so the...
Read moreWe have driven past this place for over a year. We finally decided to try it, we love cafes. The place was busy which is typically a good sign. The pies looked amazing as we walked in, I'm not sure what they cost as there was no where that we could find a price including the menu. The menu had lots to choose from and looked yummy. I ordered the club sandwich my husband ordered a half dinner salad and a bowl of soup. It took about 45 minutes to get our food. My husband never complains about a salad this time he did, it hardly had any dressing on it. When I suggested he ask for more his reply was, I don't want to wait. He had the tamato basil soup, he said it was good. The club was nothing to talk about, it didn't even have cheese. It had ham, turkey, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. Had the menu said what came on it I would have added cheese. My fault for guessing a club came with cheese. It was very loud definitely not a quite place for breakfast or lunch. Our service was very mediocre. Our waitress walked by many times and in passing would say its coming, they are working on it, this isn't a normal experience, and so on. She came over after our food was brought out and asked how the food was tasting. I asked if the club came with cheese and she said no I responded with interesting. She seemed a little uncomfortable and just walked away, it was a...
