A coworker of mine had been talking up Knucklehead Pub for a couple of years, I've just never had a chance to visit. Today I stopped in with a friend to get something to eat.
Upon arrival there were motorcycles everywhere. Parking lot, street, across the street, across the other street. Everywhere you looked there were motorcycles. In my book, that's a good sign. We walked in and the place was busy. It looks like multiple larger groups rolled in together. The bar was full, the dining area was full, the outdoor area was full, but we were lucky enough to find a table.
The waitress was pleasant, if not a little rushed. I think she might have been the only one working the floor, as I was paying attention I didn't see anyone else helping her with the tables. I mention this because I'm cutting her some slack. She was never rude, but service was slow.
The menu was your standard bar food. Burgers, Wings, sandwiches, etc. They did have a section with specialized Tater Tots. That's right, specialized Tater Tots. Loaded tots with various toppings. My friend got the Drunken Philly Tater Tots. She thought they were good. Me, well my love of hot and spicy food, I ordered the Hell Burger. "Drenched in our Famous Knucklehead Hot Sauce, roasted jalapeno, and smothered in pepper jack cheese. Served with Habanero Relish." This was a damn good burger, great flavor and cooked exactly as I ordered it. As to the heat? That is something you'd have to judge for yourself. I didn't think it was that spicy, but someone who has no tolerance for spicy food might find it too hot to their liking.
The decor is motorcycle themed obviously. They have three antique motorcycles on display. It made me feel at home.... not that I keep motorcycles in my house... but maybe I should.
Overall the place is a motorcycle rider bar. That's the type of clientele you're going to have in there. Everything from the R.U.B.s, to a couple Threepers. From newbies to old timers. And everything in between. Keep that in mind when...
Read moreUnfortunately hubby and I went in for their Wed. Special the Reuben and was attended to by the somewhat not so nice bartender who for one didn’t even make you feel as if she even wanted to take your order , rude and short. Treated like you don’t belong for we are an older married couple. She has always treated us in this manner and it really speaks numbers about who she is. What goes around comes around, and noticed she isn’t to far behind us. It’s a shame and this needs to be addressed. Upon the arrival of our Reuben dinner, which comes with fries, hhhmmmm, slightly warm, closer to cold. You all need to work a little harder to get people to want to come in for food! Lazy waitress/ bartender don’t want to tend the tables, both yesterday evening, not without a nasty comment about their cold fries. We don’t complain unless given reason. Better yet , never made it back and hubby wanted another beer🥵 Don’t want to knock a place of business but somebody who cares may want to fix the issues that have happened last night. Digging deep to see a change! We have enjoyed this place in the past several times! Love your fish fry! Sometimes the coleslaw tastes old but only once that happened. The lady with lots of tattoos is the rude...
Read moreNeither bartender had any clue about the cannon run pig drawing. if you are going to be a part of it make sure they know the rules. Then they let a local guy play their dice for the day and let him slam the shaker so hard several times like he was driving it through the bar top. It shook the bar. It wasn't busy and yet they moved at snail's pace. Lastly, when we paid our bill she was quick to grab it and look at it. Not impressed, your name is knuckleheads...you appeal to a riding crowd yet your bartenders on a Saturday night are clueless to a popular Wisconsin 6 month bike run.**update. With the reply of the owner...my review still stands. The cannon run is exposure for the bar. If you don't want to have more customers then you can bow out of it. The fact that the owner suggested that we are not sympathetic to someone's family member dying is just stupid. You are judging us before you meet us. Obviously this bar needs to learn how to answer these types constructive criticism. If you notice when there is a negative review what the answer is. Either you can stamp your feet, cry and give excuses or you fix it ...learn from it and move on. "You either win...
