New Beijing Restaurant — Restaurant in East Cocalico Township

The woman who answered the phone had to repeatedly ask questions to another person about everything i ordered and did not seem to have knowledge of anything on the menu. I ordered the sushi lunch with salad (comes with choice of soup or salad) and black pepper chicken. The sushi lunch says it comes with 8 pieces and does not say chefs choice like the other options. However when i asked to pick my sushi, i was told that i could not because it was chefs choice only. When the food came, they had sent the soup instead of salad. I called back and they accused me of not stating that i wanted salad, and said that when you don't specify soup or salad, they just send soup. First of all, my husband heard me say salad, second, why would you just send soup? Why wouldnt you just ask, soup or salad? When i politely stated that i was sure that i had ordered salad, she rudely replied that if i wanted salad i can come pick it up. The sushi included two pieces that were not even sushi. And the black pepper chicken, which was a chef special mind you, was over 50% onions! Im not even exaggerating here, it was that much onion. So basically you are paying $11 for mostly onions and rice with a few scattered pieces of chicken. VERY RUDE STAFF AND...

This place SUCKS. We've given chance after chance and we're done! Just got food delivered. Got coconut chicken: way over cooked. All of the rolls we ordered are cold (pizza rolls, 2 spring rolls) also barely any sauce for the spring rolls. I got a sushi roll and it was missing the avocado and tastes super old, I don't even think it has the right stuff in it. I'm really disappointed and we don't plan on coming back. Save your money, try a new place! Not to mention, staff is rude and pushy!!!

I CALLED TO LET THEM KNOW THAT THE FOOD WASNT VERY GOOD AND I WOULDNT BE COMING BACK BECAUSE OF THIS ORDER AND SHE SAID "OKAY THANK YOU" SHOWS HOW MUCH THEY CARE ABOUT THEIR FOOD AND CUSTOMERS. DO BETTER!!!!! I've worked as a manager in kitchen for years and this is not how you treat a problem...

We got carry-out here despite the poor reviews, and are glad we did. Pork egg rolls, crab rangoons, and pork fried rice was a good and filling super. There apparently is sugar in the rangoons, which is new (odd) to us but kinda nice, too. I arrived at the restaurant about 3:30 on a Tuesday afternoon, and the staff were eating, undoubtedly prior to the dinnertime rush, and one woman jumped up, greeted me with a smile, and patiently took my order. Then I waited no more than 10 minutes before I was heading out the door. So, four stars for good food and service; I'd really have to be big-time impressed with both to give five "loved it" stars.
