Today, 8/7/22, my husband and I took a drive to Pottstown to shop at the outlet mall. Before we started shopping, we wanted to grab a bite to eat in the area. I did a Google search for nearest breakfast spot and this place came up...about 5 mins away. As soon as we walked in I didn't have a great feeling based on how folks looked at us and its a VERY SMALL eating area. We found a table and ordered coffee, when our coffee came to the table...my husbands cup had on it "Make America Great Again"(see photo) . Noone else there had this mug! Of all the mugs to pick for the only 2 black people in the place this seemed strange to me. Why do we care about your political views? A public restaurant is there to cook food for paying customers...that's all they should care about...not politics! When I ordered my food I asked for 2 eggs, pork bacon and rye toast (this is how folks in Philly order breakfast). The waitress laughed and said we dont have pork bacon we have Hatfield - WTH - she was confused? I informed her that Hatfield bacon is pork...however in Philly the restaurants offer Turkey products so I was just being clear. The food was not the best...had no flavor...my husbands french toast was soggy and barely cooked. How do you mess up French toast? The pork bacon was the only good thing...I mean Hatfield bacon...LOL. And they only take Cash...its 2022...get with the times! Needless to say...we will never return and I hope others read this comment and...

Plenty of seats but since it was our first visit we weren't sure if we should seat ourselves. A customer at the counter (obviously a regular) told the owner/waitress we were waiting. Her reply was "so". I was instantly amused. My husband had not heard this exchange and asked if we should seat ourselves. There were exactly 5 other customers but we were not served immediately. My husband ordered breakfast and I ordered a sandwich. Food was below average. Waitress did warm up to us but only bc my husband was very friendly. If the food had been great I would give the old girl a second chance (being in the same age group)....

Both the orange juice & "bottomless" diner coffee were a bit pricey, but far better than average. My side of well-done sausage (2 large patties) went well with the delicious "country breakfast" I ordered -- a tossed mixture of scrambled eggs, hash browns & grilled onions. Most importantly, the waitress, although quite busy, remained both pleasant & attentive. My simple 4-item bill did come to a total of $19, but I will return to Coventry Cafe very...
