Giovanni’s 724 Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in North Coventry Township

I visited this restaurant after moving into the area a year ago. The parking lot is always packed. The establishment always is very well groomed from the outside. So I thought it were the of a visit to down there. On first endering the restaurant. It's a little confusing because there is a small area for sale items and desserts and opposite of that is a dining space. There's no hostess stand or greeting station. As you transition through that area there still is no place to be greeted. So you don't know if you have to wait to be seated or you see it yourself. However, I found that once we did get seated the restaurant will exceeded my expectations as far as service and food. The restaurant was exceptionally clean. There's stuff was a ton of tough to cleaning up after their guests, which I found comforting. The food portions were massive. The food that we ordered we wound up taking home more than half and eating for the next 2 days. It was very very may. I stress very fresh and high quality food. The flavors were excellent. If you're in the area, I recommend stopping here if you want to. Decent meal at a fair price with leftovers to take home for the next day. I also feel that the staff was very professional and exceptional. However, I did order delivery for a chicken cheesesteak a few days later and I felt that was not fresh. It tasted like frozen chicken that had been defrosted many times and did not taste good. So my recommendation is to visit the restaurant in person. I am sorry to share that Giovanni’s Restaurant was a huge disappointment on our latest visit. We took our extended family there for early Christmas dinner and from the very minute we walked through the door it was bad. The waitress took 15 minutes to even come to our table and I will just say she was less than pleasant. When she finally took our order it took an hour to get our food. Yes and hour maybe longer!!!!!She only came over one time during that hour and said that she would check on our order. The food did not come out all at one time and since there were seven of us that made the service experience bad too. When we were finished I had to ask her to clear the dishes before dessert and she then took a few of the dishes and actually said that’s all I can clear right now. She was putting dessert in a table full of dirty dishes. She was obviously disgruntled about being so busy and made excuses about being too busy all day due to catering orders. The entire experience was disappointing. Not only the experience was bad but the food was thrown together and was not good at all. My husband barely ate his and had no desire to take it home because it was such poor quality food. They used to serve good food but not anymore. Needless to say we will not be going back to Giovanni’s again. There are many other restaurants that will be happy to provide good food as well as good service. Do better...

I called 12/24 daytime to place an order for 2 full trays of food (to feed 20) on the 26th. The woman on the phone asked if I had to order right then because she was slammed. I explained that I knew Christmas was the next day and they would not be open and since I needed the food at noon on the 26 th I figured I couldn’t just call and order that much on the day needed. She then took my order. I came in on the 26th at noon and am sure the same woman asked if she could help me. When I told her my name and order she looked through the slips of regular orders and said it wasn’t there. I explained again that it was 2 trays of food. She went in the back and came out with it. I asked if the extra sauce was there and she said if you ordered it then yes. It wasn’t.I then handed her gift cards to pay and she rolled her eyes as if that was a problem. I asked about heating instructions and she said just put it in the oven. Seriously??? I was never treated so rudely at this establishment and I hope not to have to deal with this woman again! This is the first time I’ve been here during the day. I usually go at night. I frequent Giovanni’s and love their food and have always dealt with pleasant people.
