Service was great until I was asked at the end of the experience how was everything, then Emmaly went bizerk. This is the 2nd time trying this place . Atmosphere is good alot of older hard working people. The last time we dined was approximately 2 weeks prior. A simple tuna fish sandwich on wheat toast. The MOST disgusting tuna fish ever super stinky, horrible. Couldn't eat it and Im not kidding I am not a picky person husband ordered the all u can eat broasted chicken and was told he was prohibited from taking home his piece that was already nibbled on. For real. 1 half eaten piece of chicken, that's a joke.
Thought maybe the place was having a bad day let's try it 1 more time.
Today I ordered the sloppy Joe on their homemade roll. Ok guys no. No no no. Sweet bbq, odd unappealing blob of flavored microwaved beef ,and I mean microwaved till the point it smelled like plastic. The roll was highly flavored of pure yeast with hard edges. Potato chips on side and my side salad was Exactly TWO CHERRY TOMATOES WITH LETTUCE, NO ONION NO CUCUMBER NOTHING. Where are you all getting this is decent. MY HUSBAND HAD CHICKEN SALAD ON RYE. SMALL PORTION ON HALF SIZE SMALL RYE SLICES. NEARLY 40 BUCKS F0R TWO SANDWICH MEALS WITH BOTH OF US HAD COFFEE. ALSO THE TIP BEGINS AT 18% OR YOU CAN HEM AND HAUL AND ENTER YOUR OWN . THIS PLACE IS AWEFUL. NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN. You couldn't give me a free...
Read moreTwice, now, I've ordered a "rachel" sandwich from them and TWICE what I was served was a turkey sandwich with mayonaise on some sort of marble bread. Silly me!! I thought it might be different the 2nd time. A Rachel is supposed to have turkey, swiss cheese and coleslaw. This evening I was served, yet again, a turkey sandwich with some sort of watery mayo on it. I called the hostess over and explained I ordered a rachel but this is clearly just a turkey sandwinch. I was told "well, the way we do it is we combine the coleslaw with mayonnaise and our special 1000 island dressing and put that on the sandwich". I might not be a world-reknowned chef but I can tell when a sandwich is missing things like.....swiss cheese, basic 1000 island dressing and COLE SLAW. The owners need to review their 'recipes' and stop skimping on basic ingredients that make a sandwich (or any item served) what it is actually supposed to be. Don't insult your patrons by 'explaining' your sauce that is clearly a cheap substitute for what should actually be in/on the sandwich. If you are looking for a subpar salad bar, then this is the place for you. The waitresses have always been very nice, however, the management needs to STOP cutting back on simple recipes to save a few cents at the customers' expense. We live locally and there are definitely better...
Read moreMy wife and I live in Balto, MD and decided to eat lunch at Lapps Restaurant. When I inquired about the 1/3 lb. hamburger, I was told it was frozen. Hell, I can do that at home! My wife ordered the fried chicken and I had the hot roast beef and gravy with fries. Having been here several times before, we know that the chicken usually takes a while to cook, but the wait is worth it and the chicken is usually delicious. Both meals were delivered quickly, which was concerning. The chicken was dry and quite overcooked, the skin charred and very greasy. My roast beef was was lukewarm and the fries were cool to the touch. They looked and tasted old and stale. I tried in vain to get the waitress back to the table to try and make it right. We ended up taking the 2nd piece of chicken to show the manager on the way out. She offered me a discount on the food and I refused. I told her that I could do better job in the kitchen than her cook. I also told her that the quality of the food was terrible and the cook should be ashamed for delivering such garbage to the customers. Suffice it to say that we will not be going back to C R Lapp’s Restaurant....
