Asian restaurant with Japanese sushi bar, Japanese menu items with popular Chinese, Thia, and Indonesians menu items. A little bit from all.
Pricing is slightly higher than your standard Asain Cuisine but the quality is slightly higher as well. From my first visit I would say equally matched and worth the price.
At the time of the posting the restaurant is 10 months in business it was very clean had a pleasant and fresh smell. The bathrooms were clean and modern. No sticky tables or menus. From what I experiance Idea Asain is well kept.
All of the employee interactions were pleasant and polite. The broken English did make it difficult to communicate in details. Servers with a better grasp of English would be preferred.
The Thai curry was slightly different than Curry's that I've ate at Thai restaurants and Thai Fusion restaurants. It came in presented in a nice cast iron pot sizzling hot and had a very delicious taste. It had a nice vegetable combination and tofu.
I'm not at tofu lover but I did enjoy what was in the curry. It had a nice texture, it was seared on the outside and it absorbed the flavors of the curry well. Much better than Tufu I've had at other restaurants. I was really surpirsed that I was actually seeking out the tofu to eat instead of avoiding it and leaving it which I typically would do.
The Wonton soup is your standard Chinese restaurant takeout wonton soup with slightly better quality but still just standard afair. No extra vegetables, just broth and garnished with green chives. Very plain with a low cost to match.
Overall I was impressed with the meal I thought it matched the prices tland the environment was clean and friendly and I would like to go back and try some...
Read moreAlthough this was always one of our favorite restaurants , our negative dining experience really put a damper on our admiration for this place. We planned all week to have dinner here on Friday night. We had a party of five, one of which ordered chicken fried rice. She discovered almost immediately after beginning her meal, a hair wrapped around one of the pieces of chicken in the rice. We alerted our waitress who inspected the piece of chicken with the hair and said “This is a white hair , this didn’t come from us ! Do you want a new bowl?” (No one in our party has white hair) She replied “yes” and the waitress picked up her bowl with her fork laying on top of the rice. When she finally came back with what was supposed to be a new bowl of chicken fried rice, she placed it down on the table with the fork laying in the same place on top of the rice . We were were not convinced at all they replaced the bowl with the hair in it and she could not eat her meal. Idea Asian had the nerve to leave this item on the bill and offered no apology what so ever! It’s disgusting to find hair in your food and insulting for a restaurant to not take...
Read moreI am completely confused by all of the 5-star reviews. What are people craving these days? About three weeks ago my wife and I were out shopping and thought we would stop here on the way home and pick up something for lunch. We both ordered the old standards, pork and broccoli for me and General Tso's chicken for her. Now, we are certainly not new to Chinese food by any means, but what we got was unlike anything we have experienced before before. My meal consisted of 1/4" thick slabs of chewy pork sitting on a bed of broccoli in some sort of tasteless thin sauce. My wife took one bite of her chicken and had to spit it out. It was so hot and spicy that she couldn't tolerate it, not to mention that the chicken that was contained inside of the fired encasement was slight and tough. Even the fried rice was not of the flavorful nature that we are used to. The whole meal ended up in the trash. To make matters worse this place charges a premium price for this kind of food. People save your money and order from Chef Chun's on Egg Harbor...
