Food was decent -- I'll give them stars for that. Service was a train wreck. Initially, after being seated, the waitress asked for a drink/appetizer order without the party having had time to even glance at menus. She didn't offer to come back in a moment when the girls mentioned they wanted to see the menu -- she just stood there looking at the last to order until she quickly and awkwardly chose a random drink. After drinks and appetizers arrived, the server decided we were at a table that was too small for our party size, so we moved to a larger one. Okay, they addressed that on their own. We got to that table and the first two meals were immediately delivered to half of our party. Now they completed their meals and the other two of us sat and wondered what happened to our food order. Never did the waitress ever return to ask how things were going or stop to mention the very obvious delay. Eventually one member of our group flagged down our server and asked if the other two entrees would be coming out and the server told us that the kitchen was in chaos because a chef just quit in the middle of dinner. As the first two in our party wrapped up their meals, the third meal came out. As I got done with that, with a few fries left on my plate, the final entree came out for our fourth member of our party. Now the server stopped over to offer the first two in the group a second drink. I was never asked, so I made due with what was left in my glass. As the fourth person finally was wrapping up her meal, I was already offered a check and had paid. On the way out, there was no friendly thank you for coming in from the server or hostess. No apologies for the poor service were made. It's like once the place realized they were dropping the ball on us, they decided to just give up. Nobody even looked at us -- as if we were the issue. I don't know who runs the place or pretends to train the staff, but they're ultimately the failure point of this joint. We each drove 40 minutes to meet up to try the place out, and we won't be back. One and done. Cinder Bar isn't even remotely worth it in a region of the country dotted with...
Β Β Β Read moreSeverely disappointed this week... Vola Pizza - chewy like wet stale cardboard (seemingly premade, recycled, or reheated with a few new ingredients tossed on top), the cheese tasting like cheddar and lost much of its elasticity, scarce orts of Prosciutto (a tiny few shreds), parmesan cheese that seemed a bit off - not really sure what is was, and a sprig or two of arugula (don't break the bank on this). The cost was outrageous for what is typically a highly rated favorite of ours. Don't know what went wrong - we would never order this again if this is the new way it is made. (0 out of 5) - $23.00
The Ahi Tuna was the worst selection of the whole dinner from a value perspective. Admitting the tuna itself was decent but the rice was seasoned incredibly ineptly - we could not bring ourselves to eating it. The first piece of tuna was tasted with the rice and it was shockingly mismatched. The clump of rice was tossed out entirely after that. The sauces were somewhat of a joke. The soy sauce was fine for dipping the tuna but the other two abominations left us questioning if we had Covid. A milky wasabi and some strange orange paste that looked like Old Bay in mayo with a touch of blandness. Cinder Bar destroyed the Ahi Tuna by its choices of terrible rice and selection of sauces. At $26 for 6 tiny pieces of fish, this was sadly purchased. (1 out of 5 - because the tuna was cooked perfectly) - $26.45
The best part of dinner was the roasted beet salad. Pleasantly enjoyable with candied walnuts, goat cheese, a green mix, and ample supply of chopped beets. If any complaint here, it would be the amount of sweetness caked on the walnuts - it was over the top but may appeal to kids (we'd recommend roasting the walnuts and losing the coating). But on a whole, the only good choice of the evening. (4 out of 5) $13.80
We've included a picture of our bill which after door dashing and including a tip we paid $90. The bill shows the over $60 gourmet price tag for what tasted like under $30 at Walmart or in a gas station's premade...
Β Β Β Read moreWe went here for a late lunch at approx 3:30. It was my first time ever eating here even though I live in town. Our waitress was a sweetheart and it was not her fault that our dining experience was absolutely gross. My mother and I both ordered the lobster bisque and a white truffle Pizza. The lobster bisque was a salty thin broth with one piece of boiled down flavorless stale Lobster. The 1 tiny piece of lobster tasted freezer burnt. No crackers no bread just this salty bowl of broth. The worst lobster bisque I ever had anywhere. The pizza comes and it was barely hot the cheese was only partially melted but the bottom of the crust happened to be black, powdery, scorched flour and tasted burnt. It was the worst Pizza I ever had out. I make homemade pizza all the time and have for the last 35 years. I understand that their Pizza is Brick Oven flatbread style pizza so I wasn't expecting Italian or anything like that. It was not cooked properly the cheese was not brought up to the bubbly. The pizza came off flat flavorless and an absolute waste of $16. The staff was busy standing on chairs and taking pictures of food and drinks in front of the window with a fancy expensive camera. Evidentally for advertising. There were only six patrons in the restaurant. They were more attentative to taking good pictures of their food and drinks then they were about actually paying customers and in producing good tasting food and drinks. This was my first trip out of the house after major surgery. I have been cooped up for 30 days I was very excited to finally try Cinder bar and you can guarantee I will never be back in that place. it was horrible. I don't even know how they keep their doors open. I thought about calling to complain after we left but I thought what's the difference they don't care. Atrocious. My worst dining experience ever. Thank God I didn't pay my mother did but I felt so bad that she got ripped off for our lousy late lunch. My advice don't waste your money...
