Sorry, but we were not happy at the gym so I was going to leave a similar review. We were disappointed after a month because we felt like everything was just so business to you.
It was a long distance to commute for us, but we joined to your gym even though there were many boxing gyms in and near our town, because we expected that it would be more like a family atmosphere.
At first, it looked like a semi private class with 4,5 kids (the ratio of coach and kids were about 1:5), and you seemed very caring about younger kids like my son who was 7 years old and almost new to boxing.
After a month, it started getting too crowded with big kids, and you were only caring about kids who had a trial class or newly joined.
In the middle of the 3 months of the contract duration, you asked me to move him to the new mini champ class for younger kids. The class time was shorter, he felt bored with younger and beginning kids there, and at the end, he had time conflicts so we couldn’t join in.
After I told you that the mini champ class didn’t work out for my son, I felt that he was getting less attention from you, more disappointments after every classes, and less improvements on his skills.
We have a right and responsibility to review honestly as per our experience. I understand that you can’t satisfy all the students and customers so just move on.
Again thank you for teaching my son for the last 3 months, but I doubt that he will join in your gym later again since he was very disappointed again even at the last class.
I know you’re going to say that you had to be fair to other kids, but that’s why I texted you and asked you a favor since it was his last class. It might be nothing for you, but to me, you broke your promise and broke my...
Read moreI cannot recommend the Whippany Boxing gym highly enough. This is one of the few places that actually teaches the fundamentals of boxing and self-defense, unlike other gyms that focus primarily on cardio. With this gym not only are you getting a great workout, but you will also learn a crucial lifelong skill.
All of the coaches at this gym are extremely friendly and supportive making it a great environment for people of all skill levels. They are also very knowledgeable and have real experience in the ring. I appreciate the camaraderie among the gym members and the people are there to encourage one another to strive to get better. When I first started, I had absolutely no idea how to throw a basic punch and now at six weeks in, my confidence and abilities have improved significantly. Each training session is challenging and rewarding and leaves you with a sense of accomplishment after each session.
One of my favorite aspects of this gym is that classes are small enough to get individualized attention. The coaches provide very useful feedback on what needs to be tweaked in order to improve. In summary, if you are looking to get in shape and learn self defense in a friendly environment, Whippany boxing is the...
Read moreI don't normally write reviews like this, however I feel compelled to share my awesome experience with Whipping Boxing. I am a college student at Tulane University and upon returning home for winter break I was searching for a legitimate boxing gym where I could practice techniques and actually learn the sport. I browsed the internet for days only to come across a plethora of "boxing gyms" which were merely cardio fitness classes. I finally came across Whippany Boxing and saw that their coaches were genuine fighters with substantial experience in the sport. After my first class at Whippany I could feel the true atmosphere of a fight gym, something that is scarce nowadays and I was quickly convinced it was the right spot to invest my money and time. Each of the coaches offered their own unique styles and experiences and they are very attentive towards new students to ensure their students build a good technical foundation from the jump. Despite many of the classes being technique based, they still allow you to challenge your fitness and cardio. I would highly recommend Whippany Boxing to anyone who has ambitions of learning how to box or...
