I've been going to your establishment for years and years the service used to suck and the food was good and now it's the opposite. I'm pretty sure you've changed hands the food is completely different we spent $250 for five people 3 kids. I've worked in a seafood restaurant for years I've eaten Seafood for years and it was just not good fried it was okay but the broiled stuff and the lobster was just not good. We ordered garlic bread when it came out it was barely toasted so I sent it back she brought it back it looked the exact same it was the same bread which is fine I just wanted her to put it back in the broiler and then she proceeded to tell me that they can't because it'll burn once again I've worked in the restaurant business my whole life that's ridiculous for her to say that. the shrimp scampi the sauce was delicious the noodles were perfect the shrimp was ok.. my 12-year-old was eating it she liked it but then again her pallet is not familiar with how things should be. I got the broiled Seafood combination just the texture was off the chicken tenders were gross my son loves tenders he didn't even eat them. I didn't send anything back because I didn't want to waste it so my cats and dog enjoyed what wasn't consumed. I'm so disappointed because the Sandpiper has been my favorite place to bring my family because of the ice cream the beach the playscape the splash pad the bathrooms close by parking and now I'm sad I mean I'll still come I just won't get Seafood also the crab cake recipe is awful it's like mush same with the seafood stuffing that comes in the stuffed fish just no chunks no girth also are waitress had a mask on but she had it hanging down under her nose what the hell is the point of that just curious cuz it looks stupid and is pointless. I'm going to say in the past 10 years I've spent at least $5,000 there not to mention I am a phenomenal tipper. We purposely come to sit outside but you had all the windows closed I asked and she opened a couple but why wouldn't they be all open it was this past Saturday and it was like a summer day. I also appreciate there being no televisions out there. I was there last month and I got the broiled stuffed fish the fish was great but like I said the stuffing ruined it and I am a stuffing lover. Maybe consider a Ritz cracker stuffing with lump Seafood. The whole time I'm eating I'm like Gordon Ramsay would not approve. I just have high expectations of the way things should be especially with the prices it's not difficult to do things correctly you either have unexperienced Cooks or nobody cares...
Read moreI had a deeply disappointing experience at Sandpiper on the evening of May 2nd, a night I won’t soon forget. After years of being a loyal customer, I was shocked by the poor quality of food and even worse customer service.
It all began when I placed an order at 8:30 PM, understanding it was late but expecting the same quality I had always received. I ordered a seafood combo, a favorite of mine that I've enjoyed many times over the past 15 years. Unfortunately, this time was different. As soon as I bit into the food, it was clear something was very wrong. The food was excessively greasy, with a burnt taste that made it inedible.
I immediately called the restaurant to report the issue, hoping for a quick resolution. Given the late hour and the fact that the restaurant was likely closing, I didn't demand a remake on the spot. Instead, I suggested I hold onto the food overnight so they could prepare a fresh batch the next day. However, the response I received from the cashier was shockingly dismissive. She informed me that they would not be taking the food back, nor would they refund my money. Her tone was defensive, and she seemed completely unconcerned about the quality of the food or my dissatisfaction.
Despite my attempt to be reasonable, explaining that I was not asking for a refund but simply a fresh order of food, she remained uncooperative. I called again the next day, as I had planned, but was met with the same indifference. The cashier insisted that their food was always prepared the same way and suggested that the fault was mine for not liking it.
In the end, I had no choice but to throw the $40 meal in the trash. The food was simply too greasy and burnt to be salvaged. It’s disheartening because Sandpiper used to stand for quality and consistency, but this experience has completely changed my perception. The lack of care in both the food preparation and customer service is unacceptable.
After 15 years of being a loyal customer, I will not be returning to Sandpiper. The standards that once made this restaurant a go-to for me have clearly slipped, and it’s...
Read moreNormally I wouldn't but after so many issues with the order I feel I should warn travelers of the major possibility that you won't get what you pay for. I did a large order online for pickup, charged not once, not twice but in fact three times. I was told is a bank thing, bank says it's a restaurant thing. Either way I now have to wait up to 10 business days for a refund or to start a dispute with the bank. The order was only half correct. I ordered Side of fries - Good! Side of Onion Rings - Good! Children Chicken Tenders - tastes like fish and since when is 2 tiny tenders and less then a handful of fries worth $12? Cheaper at McDonalds and won't taste like cross contamination at its finest. Double cheeseburger meal - half cooked, half raw, none of the things I PAID EXTRA, in excessive amounts because I ordered online or because this place things a slice of lettuce is worth $2.25, I wouldn't know because I didn't get any lettuce anyway. Two bowls of soup - One half full, only to assume it was about half because the cup broke from the bottom and by the time I got home I had a paper bag of correct flavor soup and 3/4s of a container of I don't even know what but it wasn't what I ordered. Soft serve swirl ice cream (80° weather) - handed to me tilted with no napkins and no care for the fact he had to tilt the cone as to not drop the ice cream off the side. Overall spent $100 for fancy packages, edible brown paper bags, disposal and used poorly shaped containers, edible soup soaked napkins and ketchup packets and about $7 worth of actual...
