Merlinos Pizza — Restaurant in East McKeesport

I have order from this place a number of time pizza is good sometimes. Once I even had to wait 2 hours for my pizza. I just ordered What I thought was a Sicilian pizza. A Sicilian pizza is defined as having a rise that is at least one and a half inch thick. When I got the pizza which was more expensive it was paper thin. I had a topping of pepperoni and the grease was leaking from the bottom of the box because of how thin the pizza was. I called to see why the pizza was so thin and greasy the rude girl over the phone say a Sicilian is just a squared pizza and the pizza is going to be greasy because of the pepperoni as if I never had a pizza in my life before. She said if I wanted thick crust I would have had to Specify that even though it does not say that in the pizza Description. The pizza was not even good and they did nothing to make it better. I will never order from there again Bishop Pizza is better and they have better customer service. I tip the driver every time and give recommendations I will never do that for them again. I really wanted to like this place and hate to be the one to leave a horrible review, especially after seeing other reviewers rave about Merlino's pie but, with the exception of the gyros I ordered, the food that I received was NOT good ... at all. $50 in the garbage.

Gyros ... These were excellent. Well seasoned, loaded with meat, fresh vegetables, feta, extra sauce. Absolute FIRE.

Pizza ... This was just bad and looked like it came from a school cafeteria. Dough seemed like a frozen shell. Sauce was OK but that's only part of what makes a good pizza.

Steak Hoagie ... Soggy. The bread was barely toasted, if at all, and resulted in the sandwich falling apart 1/4 of the way through.

Wings ... Asked for the second to the hottest they have and received something that was completely lacking any heat whatsoever. Sauce was pooled in bottom of container with barely any on wings.

Overall, I am utterly disappointed. What I ordered are considered standards at any small, locally owned pizza shop but what I got looked and tasted like it came from an institutional kitchen. Do...

While the food I've had in the past was satisfying, customer service needs improvement. I understand training new ppl, and mistakes can be made, but shouldn't be made at the customers expense. They gave me a 20pc split wings that I never ordered, but was charged for. I live right behind them, so when I got hung up on, I went there to plead my case. I was so hurt how I was treated. After wanting to give me a 10$ credit, I asked, why on earth would I want to use a credit of mine at this establishment after what happened? So he claims he'll credit 10bucks back to my CC. for 10wings instead, which is all I wanted in the first place. Even tho, the price for 10 wings is 11.99, but ok, that's the way they do business. All of the aggravation simply could have been avoided. I'll be checking my card and let you know if further action on my part is necessary.
