Was recently in town and stopped by twice to eat at Tin Lizard. This is about the 1st time. We sat at the bar which actually has a very lovely set up. It looked great. The restaurant was very clean and we got seated immediately. The waitress seemed pretty checked out, I think she was busy doing other things because we didn’t see her much and waited 20 minutes for a refill. And she just seemed like she wasn’t in the mood. The food came out super quick! It was AMAZING! We ordered a Pepsi, Diet Pepsi with Grenadine. The Artichoke Spinach Dip (It was so good I couldn’t get a pic before we started in on it!) A BBQ Pizza, and the Grilled Cheese with Tomato soup. Every single thing we ordered tasted AMAZING! Which is why we went back before we left town. Lol. The music and atmosphere was great too and my partner was able to watch the game at the bar. It’s been nearly 2 years since our last visit. But it’s still a clean, great looking establishment with some really REALLY good food! The 2nd Visit It took us a few minutes to be seated although there were 6 employees standing together at the bar. We got a booth by the window which I loved; but those booth back cushions are in BAD shape. Mine stayed curled up towards me, pushing me to the table. I just want to start off by saying our waitress was AMAZING! So all the complaints are not her fault. Like I said prior, there were many others there but for whatever reason they seemed to have this one server taking care of the majority of tables. I’m a server so I know how it is. She was lovely, we did wait 10-15 minutes for drinks but I clearly saw her delivering other tables food which has to be served quickly. We waited about 25 minutes for our Spinach dip. But it was hot and just as amazing, if not better than the day before. And it was about 45 minutes in that our Grilled cheese and tomato soup with coleslaw and 8pc order of bbq wings came. All the food was hot and so so so good. Our server chatted with us and was so nice. Apologized for our waits and we reassured her she was fine. I do the same thing and know exactly how it is. Her attitude and attentiveness made up for all the wait. Which we didn’t mind anyway. She was busy and we understood. That woman was doing some work! I definitely wish I worked with more servers like her! I wish I could remember her name. She deserves a shout out! But everything was great! And we will be back the next time we’re in Peoria! Won’t go again. We went the first time and sat at the bar. Took forever to get served. I ordered a second glass of wine and the bottle was out. The bartender started to open the bottle, put it down, went and waited on someone else, cleared dishes off the bar, cashed someone out and then came back and finished opening the bottle and poured my glass. Seriously, 15 minutes before I got my drink. We decided it was an off night, and loved the place, so we’d go back
Second time there, we asked if we could take one of the booths in the bar. The hostess said yes. Took about 10 minutes before the waitress came over. No hello, she literally said “are you eating”, very rudely. We said “no, we just want to order a drink”. She huffed and said “well it’s going to be a while”. She went and started clearing the next table. Husband said, let’s go, I’m not doing this again. We got up and she started yelling at us. “This is not a seat yourself situation”. Husband said, we didn’t seat ourselves, the hostess told us we could sit here. She followed us out, yelling at us, then started yelling at the hostess.

We went to the Tin Lizard on Dec. 30th at 445pm we waited in line (only being 4-5th in line) and were informed it would be a 20 minute wait to be seated even though there were multiple empty open and clean tables available. After waiting 45 minutes we were finally seated. Upon being seated we inquired with the waiter as to if there was anything "special" they do or could do since we were there to celebrate a birthday for Triplets - he quickly said nope. He took our drink order and returned in 20 minutes to take our food order but still did NOT have our drinks - he apologized and it still took another 40 minutes to receive our drinks (a total of 1 hour to receive 5 drinks) 2 waters, 3 bottled beers. When we finally received our meals which was another hour wait (a total of 2 hours waited to receive food and drinks) the one meal had a salad that had wilted lettuce - and the lettuce that came "on the side" for the burger was black around the top HOW do you even send that out to a guest? The burger tasted spoiled and the waiter did not return for another 35 minutes after delivering the meal. No refill offer or inquiry as to how the food was. By the time he returned the rest of the group was done eating so we showed him the salad as well as the lettuce that "came on the side" for the burger and all he said was "oh sorry about that, I'll go ahead and take it off your bill" - after waiting even longer we finally received the bill - Suffice it to say we will NEVER EVER return - for multiple reasons. 1. The lady seating people that evening had a horrible attitude 2. The 45 minute wait to be seated with multiple open tables available 3. The service was horrible 4. The hour wait for drinks 5. The additional hour wait for food that was not good and the waiter basically disregarding the fact that the lettuce was molded - we would have rated this a ZERO however, that is...
