After patronizing this restaurant for decades, the last several visits were just okay food and the service has questionable. As a patron who values inclusivity and respect, I feel compelled to share my recent experience, which has left my family deeply disheartened.
I observed an interaction between the owner, the owner's daughter and a lovely family that raised serious concerns about the establishment's commitment to treating all customers (regardless of race or background) with equal respect and dignity. A family, who happened to be African American, was denied service under the pretext of not having a reservation. This in itself could be a standard practice; however, the manner in which the situation was handled by the owner (and older woman and her daughter) was upsetting to watch.
The family, comprising of about 6 or so adults and 6 children, conducted themselves with grace and politeness, a stark contrast to the yelling and temper tantrums displayed by the owners. The owner's approach was not only unprofessional but also carried undertones of disrespect as well as discrimination. The aggressive demeanor, particularly towards a peaceful and loving family, was unsettling and contrary to the principles of hospitality and basic decency that everyone deserves.
I wonder if my Caucasian co-workers and I came here for work for lunch one day, if we would have been treated with such disrespect and so easily told 'I will not serve you'. Would the lack of reservation still have been a deal-breaker, or would accommodations have been made? This disparity in treatment, whether intentional or not, casts a shadow on the ethos of this restaurant.
This experience has profoundly impacted my view of your establishment and due to this incident, I, along with my family and business colleagues, will no longer patronize this business. It is my hope that this feedback serves as a catalyst for introspection and positive change in your customer service approach, especially in how you interact with...
Read moreCame here on 10/25/24 with the Men’s Soccer team from Post University from Waterbury, CT. I am the teams’ bus driver and we were in town for our last road trip of the regular season. Because of the size of our group it is often difficult to find restaurants that can accommodate us on short notice, we usually end up at a chain restaurant, but when Scottos's said they could we were excited about a real restaurant and they did not disappoint!!
The food was served family style and everything was outstanding. We got Chicken Marsala, Chicken Parmesan, Penne Vodka, Salad and some amazing homemade rolls. The food was so good we were talking about it all night.
And then there was the service, this is a family owned place and they made sure we were happy, satisfied and STUFFED. The family is as welcoming and generous as you could ask for, they are really great people and are now on the radar for any team from Post University coming...
Read moreA staple in the Twin Rivers community. I have been coming here for over 10 years and have seen it go through two managements and both have been great. While I personally prefer Manninos in Hightstown this pizzeria is always a solid option. I enjoy their pizza slices nice and cheesy with the amount of crunch to the crust not too oily. I believe they have the best garlic knots in the area and I personally feel they go above and beyond with their salads. My personal favorite is the ceasar with Romano chicken or the blackened chicken or the garden salad with balsamic and grilled chicken. Cheesesteaks or a chicken cutlet sandwich are nice and big and always fresh. For main entrees the food is delicious calamarie bruschetta, penne vodka pasta, chicken dishes. it can be casual eatery or a sit down dinner or host a dinner party venue for any occasion. Owners are mostly nice and can get pretty busy...
