3 stars is for lack of communication and the fact that NOT ONE of the staff was masked, that should not happen at this point in our pandemic recovery. We had a reuben and chicken fried steak dinner. The broccoli soup was great and chicken noodle soup was good, not salty like normal. Gravy for steak was quite peppery which was perfect and the house made mashed were equally good. The salad and rice pudding were perfect additions. Service wasn't great. There was a shift change that had us waiting for over 15 minutes to get the check. This is a great little family restaurant tucked inside a small plaza off of Lakeshore Blvd. The employees are so friendly and work hard to make your eating experience a great one. There is a very extensive menu with good value prices. The entrees include soup, salad and dessert. I had the chicken carbonara. It was very tasty and included, a soup, I chose navy bean, a large salad and choice of rice pudding or Jello for dessert. I'm a big eater and had to ask for a box to go for my entree.
