Giuseppe's Bakery — Restaurant in Eastpointe

I will never spend money with this bakery again! I ordered 2 Key Lime Pies from them for Easter, what I received was horrible! The consistency of the pies was identical to that of a jelly filled donut. Needless to say they were impossible to serve to my guests, it was a sloppy mess. I was told to refrigerate them so that they could "set up" because they were just made, they never set up. On their next business day, I called to see if there was anyway i could be compensated for such a disappointment. The baker I spoke with was quite argumentative and said out of 20 people she made pies for, im the only one complaining. She insisted that I was full of it and that she'd been baking for 40 years. The bottom line is, no matter how many pies you've made, NOT EVERYONE is going to be satisfied with your work. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Then she said "you can't go to any other bakery and if things aren't to your liking, get a refund". A bit of advice: THE BAKE STATION in Southfield, on Southfield Rd. Is the best! been referred to Giuseppe's by a couple of people mainly for the flavors of the cup cakes. I wanted great taste with my wedding cake and cost wasn't an issue so I stopped in and the greeting/service wasn't the best but they were busy so I took it in stride. I was told to come back, which I did and it was better. I showed what I wanted and was told they'd be in touch in a certain time frame. After that time frame had passed, I reached out and was told to come in and pick my flavors. Upon arrival, everything was pleasant but I was told what I wanted had to be changed slightly. I only needed a cake for 300 ppl but this cake served 650+. I opted out of the layer with the monogram on it. While the flavors were amazing ....I was disappointed with a 4 layer cake that sat flat and the bottom layer didn't have the flair flowers as discussed/shown. $2200 with regret is nothing to sneeze over BUT be sure you have someone to view your cake before it's ready to be delivered for this reason. Incredibly rude staff my daughter tried to order a cake for my birthday she was told to text order details throughout the condescending conversation she addressed my daughter as ma’am we can only do this and ma’am we can only do that. My daughter is a college student trying to do something nice for me with the little that she has she knows I rarely celebrate my birthday this bakery was a referral from a family member. My daughter sent her a final text asking to confirm the cake order do you think they responded? No! please use another bakery that treats people with respect. Sad thing is I’ve sent a few friends pictures of the cakes they’ve made for other customers I have called them all and told of my experience . So much for the recommendation from my family member and she won’t be using them again...
