I was very disappointed I've heard a lot of nice things about this restaurant I've been here about a year and a half ago and it was awesome I don't know if it was different management different cook what was going on then but it was really nice tonight when my friend and I went we waited forever to get a seat then they set us at a table that was barely standing up it was so wobbly it was unbelievable then the waitress finally came over and asked us if she could help us we asked for another table he got a real nasty attitude about it but she did move us then it took her forever to come back to access what we wanted to order to drink my friend he ordered coffee I ordered cranberry juice she brought back his coffee 10 minutes later still no cranberry juice we were there a half an hour before I got my cranberry juice we ordered the milestone french fries it took them 20 minutes to bring those out the waitress did not bring us plates for those it was just really really bad service and it was this if the fries were not completely cooked needless to say we couldn't finish those so he ordered the fish and chips with a baked potato and chicken and noodle soup when they brought his food they brought tartar sauce and sour cream no butter for the baked potato he acts a waitress for butter it took her 20 minutes to bring butter needless to say the potato was cold he was unable to finish eating that I ordered the French onion soup and a Greek chicken pita the French onion soup tastes like someone poured salt into it I could not eat it it was unbelievable I had to send it back the Greek pita was really good unbelievably it was great overall I was really disappointed every time we needed the waitress we couldn't find her it was like a hit or miss it was really really horrible service and the music that they had playing in there was horrible they were playing hard rock and it was just horrible I'm like that's not the environment that we set out for and everyone that told us about the restaurant has said that it was really cool and a very nice environment it was not that was very dissatisfied with the service as well as the cook with some of the items it was just bad service completely and no I will not return it was horrible each type of juice I asked for they didn't have pineapple juice they didn't have Papaya juice they didn't have apple juice it was like it was set up not very well I was very...
Read moreso I’ve returned to revise my review. First I like to take this opportunity to say yes the service here is Great!! food is good and staff great until tonight. My cuz and I decided we would eat here last sunday on the anniversary of my Mother’s death, we just needed to get out the house and find some happiness for a change. We arrived approximately 7pm sat at the bar ordered food and drinks met a few people at the bar started conversations a gentleman asked me what I wanted to hear on the jukebox we put money in only to bearly hear what we paid for . The music was so low we asked the bartender on duty if she could turn it up a bit, she explains she has no control over it she would have to ask her manager, she returned to tell us the manager said no. We asked to speak with her as she was coming towards us she was already telling us no and shaking her head no. she continued to tell us she couldn’t turn it up because there was a child in the restaurant side, and if it was up to her she would take the music completely out the restaurant. I’m sure being the great place you are you put non offensive music in your establishment. So i asked her whats the percentage of your black customers? In turn she said to us 95% of her customer base was blacks. This did not sit well with us. First and for most customers alway right, second we are a people of music it’s good for the Soul. She continued to try and make sense of it only to keep putting her foot in her mouth. Again we like your establishment and only wanted the music up for our listening pleasure not to turn the place into a club, especially sitting in a bar where we were ordering food and drinks the music was a plus. We love to frequent your establishment but this may have very well been a deal breaker. Yes there are plenty of establishments we could’ve chosen to frequent but we choose yours. i never ever heard of any policies for not turning the jukebox up in the bar area because there are children in the restaurant side. But anywho for future references maybe you should get rid of the jukebox and let your 95% black customer base seek other places to enjoy like starters eastland and the up and coming They Say II coming soon to the old Applebees ...
Read moreI would normally give a restaurant the "Three Strikes" rule before I give a review. But this is certainly a place I will not go back to for a third round.
My first experience was OK... middle of the afternoon on a Tuesday, they weren't very busy, the kitchen prepared the food as we expected when ordering a bar burger. But we sat at the bar and the bartender never stopped cleaning. Never. Yes, I know the owner was there at the time and he was trying to show off, but... oh boy... the smell of the cleaners was toxic. Ok, I can get over that.
By the way, they did a FANTASTIC job of remodeling this place! It is so open and airy there now, the bathrooms are clean and spacious. It feels very welcoming. But...
At the next visit, I don't know what the kitchen or the wait staff did. There were almost no people in the restaurant when we arrived, nor salt or pepper shakers on the tables, yet the beers ran dry quite a few times and we found ourselves at the bar to order our own drinks.
One of the main dishes was a "ribeye" steak at $20. Obviously, I should be concerned when ordering a steak at a bar and they bring out a bottle of A1 Sauce to go with it. Lesson learned... don't order a steak at a bar. It arrived at the table as a thinly-sliced NY Strip instead of a ribeye, gristle and all. And I still didn't get a beer.
But why would they serve the steak 12 minutes before the two Club sandwiches that were ordered at the same table? My companions had time to go outside for a cigarette, come in, realize their beer glasses were empty, go to the bar, and get halfway through their next beer before they were served. After grabbing cutlery from the other table, I was already done with my "medium rare that was actually barely seared" steak by that time.
Words of advice: when getting the French Fries with your order, order them "well done". They came out crispy and brown and full of deliciousness. Nice job! Just be sure to ask for ketchup or mustard also, because they won't be on the table.
As they say... "two out of...
