"A gem of exquisite cuisine and service nestled in the Lake Oconee Reynolds area."

OMG!!!! YES!!!! That's all I could say for the first bites of each dish we ordered.

A group of six of us went for dinner and we loved it so much we went back for brunch! Let me preface this with saying that I spent nine years traveling all over the country and part of my job was (and is) “wining and dining” healthcare executives and surgeons. I've also lived in NYC, Chicago, San Diego, Los Angles, and West Palm Beach (which means I know what excellent food and service should be, as do the other two couples we were with....the bar is always set VERY high).

First of all, the ambiance is amazing! The proprietors bring a mixture of the Chicago excellence to the southern charm of Greensboro, GA in a perfect harmony of colors, textures, smells, and visual graphics.

The service is also Forbes 5 star in my opinion. Between John and Geoff (the owners) and the incredible staff they have, you feel like you've walked into your "locals spot" even on your first visit, but with a "we plan to earn your business every single time" attitude.

If you can, go with a group so you can share a lot of options (dine family style). We HIGHLY recommend the Tomahawk steak to share as a starter or as part of your main. The fancy curly fries are a must, and quite honestly every dish our group had at dinner was a winner.

For brunch try the Smashburger, pancakes, and ALL the sauces.

My friends and I plan to come back here since we had such a great stay at the Ritz at Lake Oconee down the road and want to come back to enjoy the resort again. I HIGHLY suggest making advance reservations at Table at the Lake a few times if you're here for more...

5/5 Review!!! So we were on a Lifestyle Visit in the area (coming from CA), staying at the Ritz Carlton and our real estate agent had highly recommended us to the Table at the Lake for dinner. As we parked, we quickly noticed how quaint the outdoor seating and lighting was....It was just so welcoming and beautiful! We entered into the restaurant which quickly felt like we were in Europe with the exquisite decor and hospitality. We met both of the owners, Jon and Jeff as we entered the restaurant and they both appreciated and were gracious that the local real estate agent had recommended us trying their new restaurant. They were super warm and friendly and accommodating even though we did not have reservations. My husband and I were promptly seating in their outdoor patio with the incredible, cozy ambiance of beautifully decorated accents and decor. Our waiter, Johnny was beyond welcoming, attentive and very knowledgeable about all the the menu items. All of his recommendations were spot on and we literally ordered exactly what he recommended based on on our desires. Johnny was amazing with his impeccable service and attention to detail. It was truly such an intimate experience with the Southern hospitality - totally a Win Win for us! Plus the owners both stopped by our table to check in and chat with us during dinner. We absolutely loved the personal touch that we felt while dining at the Table at the Lake! When we visit Lake Oconee again and maybe purchase our next home, we will Definitely dine again at this incredible gem of a restaurant! Such a treat in so many ways! We highly recommend...

Don’t go. Five reasons: Portions are tiny! $26 for brunch huevos rancheros dish . It was the side of a size of dish at best. So small. I couldn’t believe it. They forgot our Brussels sprouts appetizer which was actually much larger than their main dish. They didnt even think to Comp the dish and waitress laughed and said ‘brussel sprouts for dessert’. We got the appetizer at the very end. Train your staff to comp something if you’re forgetting to bring appetizer dish until of meal. 3% surcharge that they seem to be proud of? Tacky…Come on! That should come out of their pocket based on their prices and dish portions. Please don’t reply to me on the excuse for why you do it. It’s irrelevant. Read reviews. People have commented on this before. Time to wake up. We couldn’t place the order for appetizer first as the ‘chef’ prefers we place orders all at once. Funny, they couldn’t get us the appetizer first but instead last….yet they require to take orders all at once. Please. Get off your high horse. Maybe get us the appetizer first if you’re going to require us to order all the food at once. We got charged $1 for an extra side of pancake syrup? Really? lol.

You really get the feeling they are taking advantage of customers in so many ways. My father was in food and beverage his whole life and he owned a hotel. We know what we’re talking about.

Get your portions right, get your service right and remove the 3% surcharge. No way. We’re not...

During a recent visit to Georgia, my husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Table at the Lake. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance set the tone. It strikes that rare balance between upscale and welcoming. We started with the tuna crudo, which was delicate, fresh, and impeccably balanced. The wagyu & lamb meatballs were also delicious. For mains, I had the halibut and it was beautifully seared and melt-in-your-mouth tender. And then… the roasted sweet potatoes. I hesitate to even call them a “side”—these deserve their own spotlight. Smoky, sweet, creamy, and expertly seasoned, they were quite literally one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. The cocktails were equally well-executed—creative without being gimmicky. The food and drinks here are clearly crafted by someone who understands flavor on a deep level. And the service? Impeccable. Friendly, knowledgeable, and just attentive enough to make us feel cared for without being overbearing. A perfectly composed evening of fine food, warm atmosphere, and genuine hospitality. If you find yourself anywhere near Greensboro, GA, do yourself a favor and make a reservation.

John, the managing partner was very accommodating. Food was great and service was friendly and prompt. All six of us enjoyed everything we experienced. My only issue at all would be the 3% “back-staff service fee”. I am of the opinion that even with it clearly stated on the menu it seems kinda tacky. It is mostly unheard of, really anywhere in Georgia including ATL. When I brought it up I was told that they are proud of how they compensate their employees. I certainly appreciate that and am a firm believer in compensating employees well. That said, a mandatory 3% back staff service fee doesn’t reflect YOU paying your staff well. In fact, quite the opposite. Most people would assume, as I did, that there is a 3% fee charged to PATRONS to make up for poor compensation by TATL. If you need to, raise your fees 3% and pay your employees better; but get rid of an unnecessary and controversial line item.
