Reynolds Lake Oconee — Local services in Eatonton

Reynolds Lake Oconee is in my opinion the best vacation spot for anyone looking for a beautiful getaway, secluded resort vibes, and water thrills all in one.

I’ve been coming to Oconee about 2-3 times a year since I was little and have loved every minute of it. One of the main draws for some, like myself, is the lake with tons of options for fun. Boat rentals, jet skis, tubing, rock jumping, rope swinging, fishing etc. The other major draw for some would definitely be the golfing community. The courses are absolutely stunning themselves even just to walk around.

The living community itself is always maintained and kept up. Staff are friendly at the front gate. Staff do their best to assist with any questions when calling the front desks at any of their facilities. The workers do a wonderful job with their landscaping throughout the seasons too.

There has been several construction projects that have happened over the decades to really make this place top teir. Their two gyms with state of the art equipment, tennis courts, multiple pools/lap pool, and all other facilities are truly some of the best. My personal favorite newer development would be the pickleball courts! There are 8 courts that are heavily used each day with rotating-in type play which I love. You get to play with different sill levels and meet new people. Shout out to their pickleball director Drew who keeps daily play rolling smoothly!

The general crowd of Oconee is more of a retirement community but the warmer months bring in a lot of vacationers as expected. And I could go on about this community but truly an amazing place to visit if you get the chance!

Honorable mention would be the Ritz Carlton that’s very close....

Not bad, not exceptional.

Golf courses are beautiful, well maintained and challenging. That’s the high point.

The resort/hospitality side was disappointing. Making the reservation months ago went very well so I was surprised that when I called closer to our check in date to see if I could move a tee time I was met with curt, inhospitable and short responses. They certainly let off that they don’t care much about first time visitors unless you’re in the real estate market or are a resort member.

The condo we stayed in was nice however, when making the reservation it wasn’t clear what amenities were available and which ones were not with our stay and play package. Another point lost. I don’t recommend the condos, if anything book the Ritz for full access to all the amenities. I’d like to say the golf was worth it but I’m...
