Eau Claire Cheese & Deli — Restaurant in Eau Claire

Sadly, today will most likely be the last time I choose ECCD. Quality has gone from okay to not okay, over the last few months. When a person is dropping $10.50 for a sandwich and $5/cup of soup, it should not be sloppily put together with the ingredients on one end and bare bread in the other, nor should the soup be cold or just broth.(Had a cold hero. Was sharing with my husband.) So, that was a little irritating. And because it took almost twenty minutes to get said sloppy mess of a hero, we had no time to eat together so I just split the sandwich and we parted ways. I basically had a bread sandwich to go with my cold soup as I didn't think I would or should have to rearrange the toppings so it was an even spread. Lesson learned. I feel even worse for the girls that called in their order ahead of time so they could pick up their lunch and enjoy their break. They requested an 1145 pick up. I left ECCD at 1215 and they had left just ahead of me.

I get it, you've gained popularity due to the hype from various Facebook "foodie" groups. But please, if it's busy, take your time and give a quality product and don't be afraid to say "hey, it's crazy busy. Might be a little wait".

Honestly bummed. In all my years of working in food service, the preach was that the food should be the same for every customer, every time....

Visited the Deli for cheese and lunch while on vacation based on Google reviews. They have a decent selection of cheese, sausages, and other packaged goodies. We took the advice of another reviewer and did NOT skip the soup! I ordered a cup of Chicken Pot Pie soup and shared a grilled cheese with someone. So, so good and a perfect lunch portion.

The only reason I took one star off on the atmosphere is because there weren't any clear directions on where to wait for food. We ended up waiting to the left of the cash register as that felt the most natural after paying. However, anytime someone wanted to enter or exit the store, we had to do a little dance to trade places and avoid being hit by the door that opened into the deli. I realize the size and the layout of the building isn't a quick/cheap fix - just thought it was worth mentioning incase someone tried to take a stroller or wheelchair in.

No stars, Extremely disapointed with this place. I ordered fresh cheese curds the ones that come in the fresh sack bags 2 years ago ,2 different times. They arrived fine and fresh. I ordered more cheese curds few weeks ago and when I called I asked SPECIFICALLY not in the vaccume seal bag as they change the flavor and texture of the curds. They tell me they will send fresh ones on that following Monday when they come in. Well my mom gets an email they have been shipped that saturday, very strange, and they my mom calls me and saying they are vaccum sealed! Gross!! Will not even eat these. I called and the manager tells me they stopped doing them in the fresh bags due to being tampered with in shipping. It would of been nice to tell me this before I placed the order and my mom spent over $55 on gross cheese curds! What a waste of money.They taste fake, ask before you order. Will not be ordering...
