Our family goes way back with Dottie's, and when it closed, we were heartbroken. I moved far away. Than Friday, I was in town literally to pick up my mother's ashes at the local funeral home, and drove past Dottie's... And there were cars parked, and people at the window! I knew my mother would approve; I went back and ordered my old favorite, the ham sub, LTO, sweet peppers, and mayo. Dottie's builds their subs 'upside-down' in Philly parlance; meat and cheese on top, dressings underneath. It's less messy, and the dressings meld with the inside of the roll. It was a small, and the price was $12.75, but it was about 14" long, and stuffed, maybe half a pound of meat. And it was actually BETTER than I remembered! The original was boiled ham, this was a very tasty baked ham. Service was friendly and quick (to be fair, they weren't that busy, it was only 4:00). Atmosphere? It's a roadside snack stand, and for that, it was perfect. Looking forward to returning with the family.

Please do not go here! They need to actually acknowledge the serve safe certificates and testing they had done. I easily saw no-one in the place wears gloves. I asked for them too and only a young worked wore them. The owner/ or manager not sure who she is but the main one behind the grill then went on to tell the young worker how it is not necessary and not wearing gloves was not an issue years past. How it is unnecessary and can cause more issues to wear them cross containmination ect. Well needless to say I then saw this woman wipe her hands on her pants/apron area. If I was not with a friend I would have asked to have a conversation with her. She palmed every cheesesteak off the grill/ prior to cutting they touched the bread with no gloves ect. This place has gone downhill over the few stop ins I have had over the years. Please go somewhere else for your safety.

Dottie’s has finally open back up after 3 years !! This place is so nostalgic after being a treat as a kid after baseball games and anytime we were in the area. The old school pizza burgers were my favorite thing on the menu back in the day. It’s a great spot for when the weather starts to warm up. They have plenty of picnic tables out back with a couple of cornhole boards. The cheesesteak is surprisingly very good with the bread being the star of the show. It’s also ridiculously packed with meat for just $13. Can’t go wrong with it and you’ll more than likely have extra. The milk shakes are some of the best you’ll find in the county, as well. Just know you’ll be waiting a bit for food, as it just opened back up. But, it’s worth it !
