This is a great bar in Edgerton, right downtown. Great patio that they recently made changes to, definitely for the better. All the staff wears masks, decent distancing.
The soup was good (New England Clam Chowder). Not a ton of clam, but still good taste and temp was just right.
I got the Seafood Platter with fries: Blue Gill, Perch, Jumbo Shrimp, and Cod. Basically 4 pieces of meat - I got two Perch and no Cod, but I like Perch so it was fine. Table next to us got the same thing and had a similar issue, but they didn't get their Perch and got two Cod.
The batter is crunchy, which I like, but it's the same for everything (all the fish and the chicken strips). Coleslaw is par for the course. Tartar was good but didn't seem mayo based..could be wrong though. Garlic bread was great. Shrimp was good but HUGE so it wasn't like butter bitting into it (not succulent), but tasted good. LOVE the fries (skin on).
Friend got the chicken and fish (2 chicken strips, 2 Cod). Cod was good - probably the best of the fish. Chicken strips were over cooked and chewy, but edible.
Drinks were good.
Service was on the slow side, but during these times (Covid) I'm just happy people are willing to be open and staff is working and doing their best. Server was friendly and nice.
Nothing mind blowing about this visit, but nothing horrible either. We'll...
Read moreFood & service always good. Would've gotten a 5 star but, I was in town visiting & it had been some time since I had their pizza, it was different since last time I had one. Crust & cheese were good but sauce on pizza was too chunky/thick, it wasn't sweet or particularly spicy, but didn't care for flavor it tasted acidic. I got the worst raging heartburn & I rarely get heartburn. Lesson learned next time I'll ask for no sauce. One of people in our party ordered 2 pizzas to go for their parents & were told they'd have ready & bring out by time we were done. We paid our checks & still no pizzas. A few of us decided to leave & on way out I said something to our server they were still waiting on their pizzas. They were ready & sitting in kitchen nobody (food runner) had bothered to get out to them, so she said she'd get them out to them. I can't remember her name but she is always so lovely. My dad & nephew(s) go for pizza once a week @ 2 brothers. She knows their drink order & food order & will say...
Read moreCame here two separate times in the past week. Friday for the fish fry, Monday for pizza. The fish fry was excellent - 3 pc cod is the way to go! Good breading, served with coleslaw, choice of potato (I got baked) and cornbread. Ordered a side salad and used the cheese for the baked potato. Paired well with a pair of od fashions. Our table also ordered the baked cod (looked great!), the perch (which seemed like it was too big to be perch - maybe walleye?) And salmon (reportedly a bit over cooked amd dry).
Monday was pizza - lots of cheese and toppings. Note half off only applies to dine in.
Friday was very very busy, and even with a reservation, we ended up waiting about 30 minutes. Service was...
