We tried a bunch of things from this hidden gem in Edison, and everything was delectable. Started with the boneless ribs, not dry like most places and had a beautiful char on them that added so much flavor. The shrimp dumplings were cooked perfectly and not mushy with a tangy ginger sauce: the pork fried rice was flavorful and cooked really well, again not a pile of mush like most places. Then “dragon and phoenix” which is shrimp in chili sauce and general tsos . Again, cooked perfectly with a nice bite, the chili sauce was amazing, with chunks of vegetables and a great color, and they give you jumbo shrimp. The general had chunks of high quality chicken and a really yummy sauce (not that syrupy garbage you get at lesser establishments). Last thing was the pork egg foo young which was cooked to perfection and had a great bite to it, and an awesome dark sauce, unlike the bland light brown gravy most places give you. Overall I was incredibly impressed with the level of cooking on everything, you could tell they prepare each dish with care, and nothing was under or over cooked. The ingredients were high quality and everything was so fresh. They give the right portions for the right price too. Very...
Read moreHands down, best Chinese takeout restaurant in the northern Edison area. This used to be the restaurant, as mentioned from another reviewer, at Saint George’s Avenue in Avenel, NJ. They used to have their business near Kmart, just in by the late/closed store Pathmark. They closed (not really, but they relocated) because the Pathmark building had to get renovated and cleaned up, and maybe because Pathmark closed up too, which was by the end of 2015. Other stores in the Pathmark side has closed down as well. Back to the restaurant and the food, they make a lot of delicious meals and some healthy vegetarian alternatives. Their food is great and I could perhaps stop by again. I did stop by to eat at their place (here in Edison of course). I see lots of customers show up. I wish I can give his restaurant more than 5 stars. If this restaurant suddenly closes down, God have mercy. #bestchinesefoodrestaurant
2019 Update: That formerly Pathmark is now some sorta gym (which I’m no fan of) and the Subway franchise went back in business after the building’s renovation (in case if someone is wondering)....
Read moreSmall takeout joint with a few tables for dining in. We decided to try it out based on the positive reviews. Being a cold winter day, it was a bit uncomfortable dining in with frequent traffic making it a bit chilly inside. Pretty extensive menu. For appetizers we had crab rangoons, pork egg rolls, and steamed dumplings. All the apps were very good exceeding my expectations. I was a bit disappointed with the main course. We had a shrimp and scallops dish that was a bit skimpy on the seafood. Spicy dishes lacked the appropriate heat. Fried rice was bland and not to my liking. Mei fun was quite good. Shredded crispy chicken was good, similar to sesame chicken but overly sweet. Pretty good place, not excellent. Good service and...
