Gourmet Chinese & Sushi Express — Restaurant in Edmond

This was my first time visiting the Gourmet Chinese and Sushi Express - where I picked up several sushi rolls to go. I was impressed - the fish was fresh and generous, the other ingredients balanced the rolls nicely, their presentation was spot on, and topped topped with just the right amount of spicy mayo and in once case they also added a few dabs of another red spicy sauce. (I ordered the trio of spicy rolls and my wife had the shrimp tempura roll). They all tasted great. For those wondering about dining in - while the restaurant is not large, they have a clean, nicely decorated, pleasant seating area with full windows to the front that can accommodate several parties of people. I found it very calming with a nice local feel. I did a pick up order this time, but do plan on coming again to dine in and perhaps try some of thier other offerings. I was sitting at the traffic light when I noticed this new Chinese / Sushi spot and I knew I immediately had to try it out. I was not disappointed!

I met the owner Lian and he was very engaging telling me about his restaurant. They have only been open a few months and I’m glad I found them.

I was in the mood for Sushi and after looking at all the options I decided on the Chefs Special. Lian told me I should come back and try their Chinese options - I think that is definitely in my future!

I arrived before 1PM so I couldn’t honestly say how busy the lunch rush might be. There were plenty of seating options to choose from. A very clean & organized restaurant!

Tried this new restaurant tonight. Staff was friendly and accommodating; we ordered two large entrees for dine in and two to be prepared later to go.

The jalapeño chicken, sesame chicken, and shrimp fried rice were all very good. We also ordered green bean chicken but they were out and instead prepared chicken and broccoli that was not on the menu but they were more than happy to make. The jalapeno chicken was not too spicy.

The crab rangoons were also fresh and not full of cream cheese like Panda Express.

The restaurant was clean and the food was ready to go with only about a five minute wait.
