Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

Let me start by sayin Sonic isn't my favorite place to eat, but it will do when there is nothin else, plus my husband likes Sonic. So, what can 1 say bout Sonic, their car hops r friendly, but this is true for pretty much all Soncs. There is a convenience of being able to order at a parking spot or from a drive thru window (of course not every Sonic has a drive thru window yet). The main thing 4 me, is their food, not all of it, but take the chicken bite things (I apologize I can't remember what they're called) they have way too much breading. Their breakfast food isn't good because 1. I hate fake eggs (they, & everyone else who use powdered egg mix or those egg beater cartons can claim all they want that those r real eggs but I grew up on a farm... I know what a real egg is!!!), and 2. I prefer bacon over sausage or ham but I would rather my bacon b burnt than not cooked at all. I feel like they just barley heat it & toss it on my breakfast. Crunchy banky yall, not half raw, plz... & Sonic burgers r just ok. Mostly, their burgers r full of bs fillers... lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, & cheese w/a very thin unseasoned meat patty, & a big bun that just makes for way too much bread. Furthermore, they used to give u a choice of w/ or w/out cheese, not anymore, they took the w/out cheese choice away from us, so now all burgers have cheese which allowed them to raise their prices, not cool Sonic! Plus the only cheese they offer is American, so if u don't like American on a burger, oh well too bad 4 u.

Now for the stuff Sonic does excellent on... their drink options r phenomenal as is their "Happy Hoour" half priced drinks, their desserts r great, & they have the best fast food onion...

Had a very strange incident at Sonic on 08/10/25. I was ordering some dill tots and a small popcorn chicken (chicken bites). When I was ordering the chicken, I stated that I had a coupon for it, and the person taking my order asked me how much the coupon was for. I stated it is for "$1.99". After the call, I was going to purchase it on the screen, but I noticed that the coupon had not been applied yet. I decided I would just wait until the car hop arrived to hand them the coupon and my card. They arrived with my food after ~ 12 minutes. While I waited to get my card back, I tried one of the dill tots, and they were terrible. Not only were they not hot, they seemed to have refried old tots to heat them up again, as the tots were literally hollowed inside from how overcooked they were. Then, once they brought me my card back, I look at my receipt after they walked away....they still didn't apply the coupon!! I then have to wait another 10 minutes before I get someone to speak with me about the problem. They assured me that the charge on my account will be adjusted in a few days. I was ready to leave at this point and took their word for it. After leaving, I realized that made no sense, since I didn't pay for my food prior to them allegedly applying my coupon. Sonic would apply the coupon to your order and, then, charge you for your order. They aren't charging people twice and making the customers wait a few days to get a refund just because you used a coupon. Of course, I haven't been refunded. I have no clue what went down at this Sonic, but it is totally not cool, even if it is over a couple bucks....

ordered off the sonic app and got to the location checked in and then the carhop asked if it was for my name and I said yes she then proceeded to give me my drink which was correct and then hand me the wrong food so I let her know the food was wrong and immediately with a snarky attitude asked well let me see your receipt and I said okay and was pulling it up on my phone and handed her one part of the order back while doing so and she reached her arm into my car and snatched the bag I was about to hand her off of my lap, and then again with an attitude acting like it was my fault she handed the correct person the wrong ordered asks so you didn’t order this drink which I tell her yes I did but the food is wrong and as she rolls her eyes at me looks at the food in the bag and goes oh well idk how that happened and turns to go back in to get my order and then when she returns she shoves the bag into my hand and immediately leaves. The lack of professionalism and over all just friendly behavior was appalling and more so upset she immediately treated me like I was lying to her about my order or was wrong for taking the food she handed me after she confirmed I was the correct person, it was a mess up on her end of grabbing the wrong food and such a small misunderstanding shouldn’t have immediately made her be defensive and rude and especially she should have never rescued her arm into a persons car and snatched something out of their lap. Overall this location is great but the car hop with long braids worn up shouldn’t be in...
