Panchos Mexican Grill — Restaurant in El Cajon

Burritos now half the size they were. They are now taco bell sized burritos. Yet prices went up considerably. This place is absurdly lame on salsas. I mean lame to the point I lost 99% interest eating here. Quite frankly the salsa bar was disgusting and not maintained last couple times I went in. Every server has an attitude, looks angry, looks like they hate men, and looks like they will spit in you food when you don’t tip when they make you sign the receipt. This place charges to use a card. ……. I used to eat here regularly but it has gone down hill. Now I rarely go. It used to be busy… now it is dead. Sayulitas in santee blows this place away. First time going to Los Panchos , I asked vegetarian burrito. The woman working at the time confirmed it was a vegetarian burrito. Once I was home I obviously bit the burrito a couple times and taste something weird but since I didn't grow up eating pig lard I didn't think anything of it but since it tastes different, I called Los Panchos and I was told they refry their beans in pig lard.

As a vegetarian I am disgusted that they would do this. Why name something vegetarian and comfirm its vegitarian if it is not.

I have no doubt but their food is probably good since they have good ratings but I just wanted to let the future vegetarians know the BEANS contain PIG LARD.

I just moved to El Cajon from "the Central Coast" (north of Santa Barbara...). Well I ordered a chicken [shredded not grilled] burrito + rice & beans on the inside of my burrito + wet with green sauce (mojado verde). It tastes GREAT!--Very flavorful... Also, I think the prices are just right. Where I used to live, (about 300 miles north of here) the same burrito would've cost the same price--but the size & quality were both not as good.. They got my order right the first time too. So far, so good--in my humble opinion. (I'm a fairly picky person by the way).
