Only gave them a one star because I couldn't give them zero stars! Usually like there food but breakfast today was horrible! We were only one of two tables, us two adults & one child and the other table two adults. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food, two plates of Migas with beans & potatoes and the child's order was pancakes, scrambled cheese eggs and sausage patty. Everything was ice cold except the pancakes which were somewhat warm. Potatoes tasted and looked store bought, artificial & tasted horrible, suggest you stick to hand cut up, seasoned, fried potatoes. Refried beans tasted good but amount served was tiny. Migas looked like they were scrambled eggs with a tablespoon of tomato, onion, and green pepper thrown in as an after thought and I couldn't see any fried tortilla even in them and they were tasteless! After tasting his food, our grandson said yuck and refused to eat any of his food. Waitress never asked if we wanted drink refills, never brought napkins after being asked, never came to our table when I asked someone else to have her come over. Meanwhile two large parties and two smaller ones came in and where seated. One man was already asking when their orange juice was coming. I went to settle the bill and told her how displeased we were and the female cook came out asking what the problem was, when told she wanted to give excuses about it, waitress said she would take off my meal and discounted the child's plate for the eggs $3. If you can't serve two tables a hot breakfast on a Sunday morning before church lets out, God help you when the breakfast crowd comes in expecting decent food and service! I never mind too much waiting but do expect good & hot food to be served! I've enjoyed the lunch/dinner menu for the most part but they need to work on breakfast, including the food menu for it. Success and staying open depends on repeat customers and word of mouth and I can honestly say I won't try eating breakfast there again and won't refer anyone else there...
Read moreNew favorite spot in El Campo! Common knowledge tells us to find the restaurant where all of the cars are, and this is where we found them. We visited on a Sunday evening, and a buffet was being offered. I'm not normally one to get the buffet, but there was more on this one than cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, so I decided to give it a go. The thing that struck me most was the variety of dishes and that everything didn't taste the same. Steamed clams, Chicken Mole, Carne Guisada and a Quesadilla made with a sweet batter like a pancake. It wasn't until we were paying our bill that we were told that the buffet was only being served because they were celebrating their 5 year anniversary. We are disappointed that there won't be a buffet the next time we visit. But super excited to find this great place, just a block off 71 in the...
Read more5 stars for the food, 1star for the waitress. Food was excellent, tasted like everything was cooked fresh. Went on a Saturday at 6pm, restaurant was empty except for the 2 of us. The waitress is another story. Ordered queso... Figured it would be right out. Then we see our meals coming. So I didn't say anything, because we didn't want the queso anymore. Waitress never asked if we wanted refills, never refilled our chip basket, then took forever bringing us our check. Bill was 37.42 I gave her 40$...received 2 dollars back. She said "did you want your 58 cents back, I mean it's only 58 cents" so I left her a dollar tip. Hope we don't get her as a...
