My boyfriend is a long time El Monte resident. He spoke highly of the Post from past experiences. The first time we tried it a couple years back, it was my favorite place. Over a span of 2 years, service and food has steadily declined. With no exaggeration, all orders we would place an hour ahead of time we're late, wrong or incomplete.
Every couple of months we take a leap of faith, order our food extra early and try it again to be greatly disappointed. The second to last time we visited, the manager (John?) saw my frustration and inquired about the situation (food was going to take another 45 minutes after an hour wait). Typically a nice gesture to work with customers. However I was told "I'm sorry, but In all honesty we don't need your business". Nice.
Today will be the last time we come. I placed an order at 5:30, to be ready at 6:30. Upon pick up, we were told it was would be another 20 minutes. All while a worker is wearing flip flops in the kitchen and bussing food. Nasty and no thank you.
We received our order at 7, the outside was burnt and the middle was under cooked. Would not...
Read moreNot sure what happened after the reopening, but their service has really really dropped. Although their pizza has never been the same since they went from Lamppost to The Post, the taste and quality took a bigger drop recently. This time around the pizza was better, than my last visit, so there's hope they will regain their rhythm. I keep coming back because of multigenerational tradition and because their pizza was so great, that even with the quality drop they still stand as a decent pizza when compared to many other pizzas. 17 minutes to get your order in, and 14 minutes the last time, 12 minutes standing there waiting to order a pitcher of soda, is unacceptable though. The man power is there, so they just need figure out how to allocate those resources. I keep going back because I have faith in them that they will iron out those wrinkles and return to the untouchable high and mighty pizza beast they once were....
Read moreI ordered a pizza because of all the reviews saying this is really good pizza. So I get my pizza and this thing looks like an old reheated pizza it was so dry like eating carboard. I was looking at the photos and my pizza looked nothing like this. My pizza had hardly any cheese or toppings. The cheese looked flat and burnt like the rest of the cheese had fallen off and thats what was left. The cucumber sticks were burnt and greasy the food is terrible its like they dont change the oil. The lagsanga was not to bad the only thing was the cheese on top was all burnt but the lagsanga was ok kinda tasted like the stuff you buy at the market to put in your oven. What made it worst was the price. Not worth it so overpriced for food that someone didn't care about. It was during the day and was'nt even busy. I will never...
