On Thursday, 02SEP2021, My usual eatery on this segment of the “International Ft. Hancock - Las Cruces I-10 Bicycle Bypass” (aka Socorro Road/258/Mission Trail) was closed when I cycled Westbound from San Eli, so stopping at the El Michoacano Restaurant seemed obvious. What was not so obvious was the stunningly delicious food and expert fast service. Despite cycling this particular route many, many times over the past three decades, I had never stopped here; what a loss, and I’m so glad to have finally corrected my mistake! I was ecstatic to have seated quickly, chips/salsa/water/menu brought immediately. I was tempted by the huevos rancheros, but remembered being chided by a fellow colleague for NOT selecting the namesake meal of another eatery, so “Desayuno Michoacano” it was. Read moreI was looking up restaurants online and I decided to go to this little hole in the wall because of the ratings and i wasn't disappointed. My son and I went around 3pm on Sunday and it wasn't busy at all. The girl brought us small Lil appetizer bowls of menudo (which we didn't ask for but we definitely appreciated it. Menudo was really good too) Within 15-20 of getting there we had our main course plates in front of us. My son is a bit picky so I got him the order with the pancakes and they were fluffy and delicious. I had the enchiladas and they were also really good. I spent $17 (not including the tip) and we left really full that I was ready for a nap afterwards (which is a good sign for me lol) definitely...
Read moreWe have gone to this restaurant several times. In the beginning, it was nice and inviting. As time passed on the cleanliness level seem to decline as well as the service. The food has always been good, mostly good, but the service has most recently become terrible. If you do not like the greasy spoon type of restaurant, the typical hole in the wall, I would NOT recommend this place. It’s kind of grimy and looks dirty and it looks like it really needs a good cleaning. The condiment bottles (sugar, container, A1 sauce, ketchup, etc.) are completely nasty and have not been cleaned, ever. We decided not to go...
