Taqueria La Pila — Restaurant in El Paso

The food tasted like heaven. I had tacos de tripas and although it came with rice and beans on the side they were flexible enough to exclude the rice and just do a double portion of beans. They also asked how I wanted my tripas which I appreciate and I have to admit they were right on point. My main issue was the hygiene, I went before the state didn’t make it mandatory for people to wear masks and there was no way people were following social distance. A customer that came for a pick up sat on one of the empty tables and when he got his food nobody cleaned the table and a pair of women were sat there immediately. I had Lysol with me so I offered it and they sprayed the table themselves. This place is too tiny for its popularity. I leave 3 stars in hopes they improve on their hygiene but I also wish them the best to see them move somewhere bigger in order to keep their customers safer, as the place was way...

Honestly I use to love coming here when I was younger all the time. It’s been 10 years I haven’t been to La Pila. Today I was at that side of town so we decided to eat there. I’m sorry it’s not the same anymore. It was five of us in the table, I’m not done eating or my daughter but the other three were almost finished. I’m not kidding 3 different waiters came to our table cleaning up as if we were finished eating. Not even an excuse and one leans across me to get the plates. Then here comes another one and the third one really pissed me off. I never said I was finished and she grabbed my bottle of Coke that was half way full and at this point I was annoyed cuz she grabbed my Coke with her filthy hands and my plate. I get it you want people in and out but as a paying customer I would like to eat in peace. Teach your waiters to show a little more respect than making one...

Had to come to my favorite lunch spot during high school. It was a good week when I had the chance to have lunch here. Brought my husband to check it out for his first time and he loved it!! It was as great as I remembered it was so many years ago. Same great taste and at a great price. Love this place and wish I had one closer to me now but it's definitely worth the drive.

• Came back on a Saturday night and half of the dining room was closed off. The people don't even say hi when anyone walks in and not everyone knows that you have to go to the counter to order.
