Dairy Queen (Treat) — Restaurant in Elgin

Words of advice to the two teenage girls working tonight, the storefront is all windows and you never know who is good at reading lips. We come here quite often and typically enjoy this location, especially the owner (we think he is) is always so kind. But came in tonight for a quick twist cone on our way home. Came out heavy on the vanilla, so I asked very kindly and I felt bad asking but if we could try another cone to see if I could get some more chocolate. The girls must’ve not liked that cuz the second cone was handed to me with a scoff but that’s okay I brushed it off and was happy that the cone was a true twist. What was upsetting was as we left to get in the car I could visibly see them making fun of me. I really felt bad asking to begin with, but all I did was ask kindly and was polite. Very disheartening to witness two individuals talk about you right in front of your face without realizing and definitely was not a good end...

Never been at this location before so decide to go in with my kids a few weekends ago and have our ice cream inside. As soon as you walk in we got hit with an extremely strong smell of curry and B.O. and was disgusted immediately but we were already there and decided to take the ice cream to go which was a bummer because the little ones really wanted to eat there. So I decided to take them back the next weekend and thought maybe it was an off day and no way it will smell like this a second weekend in a row and boy was I wrong,same thing as soon as we walked in got hit with the strong smell of curry and B.O. again and was disgusted a second time so decided to leave and went to Oberweis just 5 minutes away. Both times the place was empty and wasn’t surprised,unfortunately I won’t be coming to this DQ location again. The ice cream itself was pretty good but was hard to enjoy it with that...

Our first visit to your location today 7-27 Your facility looked clean and inviting and the young girl taking orders was very polite and processional. Just some constructive criticism if I may. We came in about 7:45 just before the crowd hit. Not much seating inside and it would be nice if you had a few small tables outside along with a trash container. I'm sure like everywhere else employees are hard to find but while we were sitting on the bench outside I counted at least 8 people who looked inside then walked away. I'm sure they saw the concentration of people either standing eating or standing in line. I can't imagine the chaos on a Saturday or Sunday after the kids games let out.
