Great Wall Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Elgin

I used to go here all the time the older guy who was always there sometimes recognize my voice and knew my order already and the food was always good. I went there tonight after a long time and was very much disappointed I'm not sure if he sold it or younger family took it over and destroyed it. Egg rolls were definitely not the same they look smaller and tasted burn... but didn't really look burned?? The egg foo young patties also seemed much thinner and really tasted burned also. The beef in my son's beef and broccoli had a large amount of fat and we used to really like their egg drop soup because they didn't mix cornstarch with it and thicken it but now they do and it's more gelatinous like a lot of other places and it was missing the green onions that used to be in it. I ordered 3 lunch specials here. I came to pick them up, and the young guy at the counter had the personality of an annoyed kid who was home from college and didn't want to be having to work in his parents' restaurant. He seemed VERY 'put out' by just collecting my money! But THAT isn't even the reason for my review... I would have just blown that off... The reason for my review is that I ordered chicken lo mein, and there was NO CHICKEN in it! None! But what WAS in it were - as my photos show - just a bunch of chicken SKINS!! Disgusting. So I'm guessing that I was being served the BYPRODUCT of something else on the menu and not what I paid for! WHO does that?? Usually love this place, but never going back again after today. Called ahead for 2 lunch specials, crab Rangoon and pot stickers. Guy tells me 10-15 min but when I show up 12 minutes later, nobody is in the kitchen, they're all by the back door. Finally, the guy who took my order comes to the counter, I tell him my order and he says they're working on it. He asked me for payment then I waited for 15 min because he clearly forgot to put the order in. While I'm waiting I hear the one guy tell the other guy he burnt the crab Rangoon.
