Perfect! The highlight of my vacation was discovering this little jewel of a restaurant. The 100 year old building itself is awesome and full of charm. Walked in and I knew this was going to be great! It has a vibe I haven’t experienced in many many years. The service was so friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic ( fantastic is an understatement). I went with the recommendation from our sweet waitress, cheesy chicken with onion rings and mashed potatoes. All was perfectly cooked. Wife had chicken fried steak, awesome! My little 4 your old was asking for a pancake, and even though it was an hour past breakfast, the waitress made it happen without even asking. Many people consider me to be too picky when it comes to food and dining out, and it’s true I’m a serious foodie, that being said, this was actually my favorite dining experience of the year so far. I can’t wait to go back. Edit: the first review was from a year ago. We went back to Kalahari water park this weekend and we were looking forward to stopping in at Lucy’s again. That was a big mistake. Our dark haired tatted up waitress seemed hostile from the beginning. She seemed angry when we tried to help our young children with their orders. She actually said “who’s ordering, you or the kids?” Then she proceeds to carry on with a haughty tough girl attitude before overcharging us and charging me for a coffee refill. The food was slightly above average this time around, but it took about 1 hour to get our food after ordering. Conclusion: Bad attitude from waitress, minus 2 stars. Overcharging minus 1 star. Hour plus wait minus 2 stars. Average quality minus 1 star. From original 5 star rating, minus 6 stars equals negative 1 star review. This is my final review of Lucy’s

Old country feeling restaurant when you get inside before I forget it's almost impossible to reach.. If you have step climbing issues. I included a pic. She had the meatloaf, and it was fine, but we have an incredible recipe that we just shouldn't even compare against. But yeah, she also had the okra and mashed potatoes which were fine. I had the loaded, mashed potatoes and the chicken fried steak. Put the queso on it, and that's pretty good. I gotta tell ya the loaded potatoes were way too thin. They had too much milk or something in them, and the broccoli Casserole was like soup, so there was just too much fluid in both of the vegetables. The taste was fine, and I enjoyed it. Especially the chicken fried steak. We go a couple of times a year because it's always fine, and it's just a nice little change getting out of town...

This is our first visit here for breakfast, and I knew we wouldn't be disappointed! I've taken home burgers from here a few times, but I wanted to bring my wife here so we could eat and enjoy the restaurant. I had the Western Omelette with hash browns & wheat toast, and my wife had the Sausage Meat skillet. I thoroughly enjoyed my omelette, and my wife devoured hers like it was her last meal! Very tasty, great portion sizes, and some nice, strong (but not overly so, or bitter) coffee. I didn't catch the name of the lade who took care of us, but she was very attentive, and took excellent care of us. We will be back, and I'll try the Steak & Eggs next time... All I can say is we both walked out fat & happy! Yeeeeeah..... 😃

We ordered 2 chicken liver dinners with extra gravy. 1 small salad with 1000 dressing on side. A double cheeseburger it comes with fries. And my chopped steak with cheesy rice & broccoli, & black eyed peas. The only order that was correct. The waitress brings a tightly packed bag, tells the order and we picked it up and headed to the door.We had been sitting at a table while we waited. She put the bag on the table. We both walk slow, had to go down the steps to go to our vehicle, mucked around putting it in. Get home, the cheeseburger, Salad/dressing , extra gravy were not there. 1 lil side of brown for mine & 1 little cream gravy. NO GRAVY AT ALL OVER THE CHICKEN LIVERS. Mashed potatoes dry as well. It's dark now, so I cannot go back. I call and was polite, the gal says "I told you to wait. You can come get it." Neither of us heard her, she didn't speak up again. Didn't bother opening the door and saying ya'll forgot this. I said that I cannot because now it's to dark to see. She giggled... and Said "Sorry." At that point I hung up. A month ago another friend was with for breakfast, the service was nill, I had to get the menus after a young man brought our drinks, totally different staff as well. After 15 minutes of trying to get some attention, being ignored, I went to the kitchen and asked for to go container and check. They were not that busy! My friend didn't appreciate that, so she didn't leave a tip. What really sucked tonite is my roomate wanted to get dinner for us all to celebrate a occasion. It was his hamburger dinner. He added a tip to the bill he paid upon ordering. Yes I should have torn it apart and looked. But we waited over an hr. We were only ones in there untill about 20 mins gone by to begin with, then a few tables started. In the last 2 years, I learned not to order mexican food from them. It is mediocre food over all. Breakfasts are good. And many times the orders are incomplete when ya get take out. How many times! The best thing are their biscuits. They are bombalicously yum. I'm sure one of our other roomates will continue to go here. One sd " Well they just lost a good customer." The 2 of us this evening,,, politely I will say " I'm DONE" I cannot write what my roomate said here....

The food is always great but my 2 star review goes for the customer service. The family and I went to eat after my daughters first communion. Our waiter Josie did not have a friendly attitude. Customer service consists of introducing your self with a smile on your face, and speaking in a friendly way. I had to step out to take a quick phone call and stepped right back in. When I stepped back in, Josie, the waiter, was taking everybody’s order. When she took the last order, mentioned to her that I had not yet placed my order. She heard me but proceeded to walk away. Very unprofessional. 30 min later she came back and FINALLY took my order. 20 minutes later, she went back to the table to tell me, “We don’t have the chicken you ordered. What do you want?” So me being nice, I looked at the menu and ordered the chicken fried chicken. She asked what sides I wanted. I proceeded to look at the menu for the sides and very impatiently, with an attitude she said, “THE SIDES ARE ON THE BACK OF THE MENU.” I felt rushed to choose my sides as she stood there taping her foot. Not once did she go by the table to ask for refills. Both of My daughters, one who is a busser and the other who wasn’t even assigned to wait our table, attended to us more than what she did. Tip definitely went to my daughters, not because they are my daughters, but because they attended more to our table than the actual waitress who was assigned to our table. I will definitely go back because the food is good but will request a different waiter if Josie is our...
