I discovered Ronnie's Ribs sometime in 2017 I believe. Immediately they became my favorite BBQ space in Columbia, SC. I have lived in TX, Korea, North Carolina, South Carolina, etc. and have tasted all of the different types.
The baby back ribs are my go-to and I always get a rack when I am in town. I always loved Big T's Hash & Rice before they closed their location near Two Notch Rd. I discovered Ronnie's version afterwards and haven't skipped a beat!
My most recent visit was around Memorial Weekend. They offer an amazing Military discount on Thursdays, but because I live out of town, I will most likely not be there on that day of the week. I casually mentioned this to Shana, and she said "I got you!" Madi also helped with my order and was equally helpful.
The customer service that is provided out of that small building is amazing. It broke my heard when they closed for three years, and I was even sadder when I learned of the reason (Ronnie was taking care of his wife and son while they were sick). I am so happy to be able to support this small business after they reopened (and selfishly happy that I get to enjoy their RIBS and HASH again!).
I didn't mean to make this review so long, but this is truly one of my favorite small businesses in all of this country! Support these folks, not just because they exist, but because they provide an amazing product! I appreciate all of the behind the scenes folks I haven't had the opportunity to meet yet.
Go get you a slab, some brisket, or whatever else they are selling because it is going to be fire! I got to get down for some Chicken Bog on Sundays, because I'm ashamed to say as a native South Carolinian, I've never had it yet!
Wishing this business another 50 years of success, because again, the product they are providing is equal to or better than most of the big dawgs such as Midwood Smokehouse (And Midwood is fire too in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo can we talk about my experience Ronnie's Ribs so yesterday July the 4th I went to Ronnieās Ribs because I heard such wonderful reviews about them, when I pulled up it was a longgg line and it was HOTTTT, so I called the restaurant to ask them if I can place in order over the phone and they told me yes, only reason I called is because I started to feel a little light headed š„“ from the sun, and they sweet young lady took my order over the phone, she asked me when did I want it ready and I explained to her I was already at the establishment and asap and I explained to her that I had a stroke 3 months and needed to get out the Sun, so after she took my order about 10 minutes later I heard my name called, when I walked up to the window for my order there was this guy Iām not sure if he was the owner or what but he looked at me and said āyou had a stroke?ā I tell him yes I did and he tell me his wife had a stroke and it did her really badā¦. In my mind Iām thinking to myself Iām sorry I donāt look like what Iāve been through and Iām already feeling down because my left arm and hand has limited mobility and I need people to understand that stroke affect people differently, thankļæ¼ God for his mercy on me and it wasnāt a massive stroke, but a stroke is not something I will lie about, this guy again who may be the owner tell the other black woman fixing food something me and she look at me with a nasty look on her face (Iām black also by the way) and the nice ļæ¼caucasian lady that ring me up saw the tears in my eyes ļæ¼and she said āwell darling I think you look absolutely beautifulā and while the Food was amazing and some of the best ribs Iāve ever tasted, I unfortunately will never go back there because off that experience alone, Iāll still encourage everyone to try them out, because, the hash and rice, the ribs, the potato ļæ¼salad and the beans...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe service was great cashier went over menu and also told me about the deals. I will give the service 5/5 didnāt have to wait long for the food.
Now the food sigh I had high hopes for this place, I donāt know if itās a new pit master or it was close to closing but the food wasnāt good. The ribs were extremely dry, under seasoned and very tough to eat. The only thing saving them was the BBQ sauce which was good.
The brisket has zero smoke ring not flavor, it actually tastes like a baked pot roast. The brisket was very stringy and was sliced well at all, it was like one piece. It was tender but doesnāt give brisket vibes.
The pulled BBQ was the best thing I have no complaints about it, it was actually very good and seasoned.
The sides were good as well I have the beans and potato salads. The beans are beans nothing special but had good taste, the potato salad was really good and had...
