So y’all know we love our Mexican restaurants and we were absolutely thrilled to find this gem in Elk City! If you’re passing through, Lupe’s is definitely worth the stop. (Not to mention, Elk City has the state’s first diverging diamond interchange, which is really cool as well, but I digress.) On this occasion, all of the dips sounded really good so I went a little crazy. It worked out well since Little Flip Out loves options for dipping his chips, too. We tried the guacamole, the hot green salsa, and the supreme queso. Each had its own unique flavor that made it distinct from the others. Little Flip Out liked his taco, but the dips definitely were his preference that day. I had the Tacos Michocanos and wow, was I surprised! When I read the description, I knew I wanted to try it and it did not disappoint. Definitely would get it again. Mrs. Flip Out had the Chicken Taquitos and said the chicken had great flavor, which is not always the case at other places. This is definitely on our list of favorite stops...
Read moreVery nice people and always great service but a little pricey. The food is always hot and fresh but not my favorite. I wish they didn't charge for the queso and sopapillas. Sopapillas were $7.99 each when lots of other Mexican food restaurants give you them for free with your meal. Maybe the other places just charge for for the food but for 5 people all drinking water our bill was over $75.00 with sopapillas. We will keep eating there but will opt out of the sopapillas from now on. Edit: Sorry, I misread the receipt on the sopapillas and are not $7.99 each. I understand the need for charging for them. I guess I just miss the good old days when everyone gave them free and also included free queso with the free chips and salsa. Still a good place to eat with good staff. I'll just pass on the sopapillas and queso since...
Read moreYou can really judge a Mexican food restaurant by its chips and salsa,,,, not good. Cold chips tasted like out of a bag, salsa seemed like tin can tomatoes with very little seasoning then pureed. I held out hope , and really wanted to like the food as it "looked" good. But , meh, just barely a 2* . I requested a cheese enchilada with a LITTLE bit of onion. It was overloaded with onion, not much cheese and the sauce was,,, not my style(?) To much chili powder. I didn't eat it. The chicken enchilada with White sauce deserved a 3 star. Rice,,, ewww. Beans,,, well it's hard to mess those up,,, they were decent. On the plus side,, the place was clean and the servers were prompt and polite and the prices were reasonable. That's the only reasons I gave the...
