I was excited to try a new spot out that opened today. I like to go to a place the day they open and again a month or two down the line to see how things change.
Upon entering the store I was immediately greeted by, what I assume, was corporate welcoming new guests in. Looking around, I assume there were layers of management all near the entry way excited for the new store opening talking rather excitedly to each other and guests as they arrived. Understandable, but with what I remember as sound/music playing overhead, food cooking, your line had difficulty hearing orders (and frankly I couldn't hear them).
I ordered one 'designed' item and one customized item which turned out to be two customized items due to, what I assume, is a communication breakdown between the person I ordered the food from and the line. I recognized the breakdown almost immediately and could have corrected it, but wanted to see if it continued fully down the line (which it did). Sounds like whoever took the order doesn't have a good way of communicating a designed item down the line. Try and fix that if you can. The staff on line itself seemed energetic and excited for opening day and even helped answer a question to a specific sauce by describing the flavor profile when I asked. Nice job there.
Food tasted, well, uninspired probably due to the breakdown noted above. As a fast casual restaurant that seems to try and do more in terms of flavors, everything seemed a bit bland. Maybe I didn't order correctly, but I missed the heat, sours, and complex flavors you can get from their competitors at the same price point. Perhaps other items on their 'designed' menu showcase different flavor profiles, but I digress, I didn't get the chance to try it.
Last comment, you should be offering the nachos with chips on the side for carryout customers. If that is a thing, it wasn't offered. A quick 5-10 minute drive home (which is going to be very common in this area) means those nachos are going to be a soggy mess. If you have any delivery services picking these items up you're going to have unhappy customers.
I'll try it again in a couple months once the kinks...
Read moreDecided to try the new Bubbakoo as it is near my home. Downloaded the app and ordered the pineapple burrito, two cheese quesadillas, and an order of chips and guacamole. Ordering was easy and the food was ready and waiting for me on the pickup shelf within15 minutes. The burrito was a bit dry but quite tasty. Wife and granddaughter enjoyed the cheese quesadillas. Only negative was that when we opened the bag at home we learned that we did not get the chips and guacamole that we ordered. Despite living close to the restaurant I did not return to the restaurant as it was feeding time for our two young grandchildren. Partly blame myself for not checking the bag of a carryout order, always assuming that the order is completely filled but nevertheless frustrated that this seems to happen more...
Read moreWe went here tonight for the first time. They just opened yesterday and I was impressed that they handled a dinner rush and the flow of things so well given they are brand new.
Food was tasty: kids meal 1: chicken tenders, chips, apple juice. Kids meal 2: beef taco (1) with chips, and apple juice. Husband got a burrito with barbacoa, and I got the hibachi shrimp salad with spicy siracha and ranch and the fresh fixings of course.
We did dine in, which is a little tight as there are a decent amount of tables in the space. I would try the pick up option and order via the website. They also have delivery via DoorDash.
The staff was friendly, the food was fresh and priced about what you’d expect for fast casual.
Happy they are here and I think it’s a great addition to the...
