I could be more disappointed with my uniden SDS 200 from bcw.the reason I gave two stars is because bcw service was great.product not so much IMO.after over 800 bucks for the scanner, taxes, programming, shipping etc.it been a huge let down but I should have studied it a little harder before purchasing.scan speed is about one channel every five minutes instead of the 100 channels per second I'm accustomed to, so if you catch the end of something and don't get to the scanner in time to hold on that channel forget it because the whole crime scene will be cleaned up and everything else before it gets back around to it leaving you with little bits and pieces of conversations all night and day.what electronic device since 2005 DOESN'T have Bluetooth SMH? requiring you to sit right there with the scanner any time you want to listen to it instead of being able to put your earbuds in and work around the house or whatever while you're listening.and more money was wasted on Bluetooth adapters trying because if theres no activity they automatically shut off.smart volume like my TV has would be great for such an expensive device instead of one second whispering and the next second blowing your eardrums out.I knew it would be complicated but figured id read the manual like I always do and learn how to operate it but literally the first thing it says is "just like your caes ownees manual doesnt teach you to drive,this manual wont teach you to operate this scanner"so unless you're a computer engineer,military communications expert or have a month to spend watching how to videos to learn a little bit about it don't even bother.one of the worst purchases I've ever made in my 52 years of life.at this point if someone would give me a couple hundred bucks for it I'd cut my losses and just call it an expensive learning experience.it really is that bad no mattee what the reviews say.itll do all kinds of stuff but the average person will NEVER figure out how.oh yeah,get another, dedicated laptop with windows ten then HOPE the proprietary,necessary, sentinel software works but they make no guarantees about that either.this thing liteeally collects dust while I listen to eveeything I need to hear around my area on my 17 dollar vr5.youve been warned.do whatever you like but there are much cheaper options out there that will work for the average novice listener than the sds 200!bearcat warerhouse is top notch but they can have this useless 800...
Read moreBuyer beware! This company is very deceptive with their return policy. When I retuned my scanner I noticed that the amount of the refund (less the s/h) was off by a certain amount. The representative (Paul) was very unhelpful and advised that credit card fee's aren't refundable. He tried to play it off by stating these fee's aren't refundable via the terms of conditions. I reviewed these and there is NO mention of credit card fee's not being refundable. I will be disputing this with my credit card company. The email you receive from the warehouse also doesn't mention the non-refund of the credit card fee's as well. Be careful when purchasing.
Adding to this;
I have never dealt with a company that passes the credit card transaction fee on to the customer when returning an item. Paul, you can do better!

Read moreBearcat Warehouse is FANTASTIC to deal with. I ordered a scanner that was on backorder and received a phone call from A REAL PERSON (can you believe it!) when they restocked and were ready to ship which was two weeks earlier that I expected. I purchased my upgrade keys from them first thing in the morning and received it in less than in hour! This is a company that is run by hobby enthusiasts and it shows. As someone who listens to a scanner for several hours a day I can tell you that you won't be disappointed. I travel 130 miles a day in and out of rural and large metro areas. The simulcast ability makes a huge difference while in the city. Very rugged and well made. I would recommend the extra battery with charger along with a antenna for whatever bands you need. The stock antenna works okay in the city where signals are close, but if you are like me and live between two metro areas 10 to 15 miles away you will want something better. I can say that the BCD 436 is still very useful for casting a wide net by entire county because it is faster than the SDS100, but I prefer the SDS100 with smaller...
