TLDR: a very cute place in TC for lunch with a simple, refined menu and yummy cocktails.

We decided to eat outside, as the weather was exceptional for the time of year. I’ve encoded videos of the outdoor and indoor dining areas. 🧐

I’ll be honest and say that I’m very late on this review (we visited in May and it’s now August) so I’m not sure what drinks everyone started out with except me, I got the Prosecco, which was exactly as expected so I was pleased. Everyone appeared to enjoy their drinks, but I can’t remember what exactly they ordered, and based on drink descriptions on the menu, I couldn’t figure it out 🥲.

We ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer, and they were DELICIOUS and the presentation was also very nice- so many places will just toss the food on the plate with no regard to plating, and this was definitely the exception. You feast with your eyes first! ❤️

Our friends ordered the Burrow Burger- farm country cheddar, shaved red onion, romaine, tomato aioli, toasted bun- which they both enjoyed and made sure to let me know, since they know of my Google Review hobby. 😅

We both ordered the lobster roll 🦞 (toasted roll, lobster claw meat, cucumber, celery, herb aioli), which we both very much enjoyed- he ordered with fries and I ordered with a Caesar salad (no croutons). I stole a fry and it was tasty 🤤, but was very pleased with my salad choice.

One thing I will say is that the service was exceptional at The Burrow, and should I return to this area, I’d very much like to revisit...

I sat at the bar, as I was dining solo. I was greeted with a smile by the bartender after a few moments. I ordered a drink while choosing my nourishment for the evening. I ordered the crab cakes for a starter, with the braised short ribs as my main entrée. The appetizer came with 2 good size crab cakes surrounded by a Dijon like mustard sauce. The crab cakes were decent, but the mustard sauce was strong and overwhelming. It masked the flavor of the crab cakes completely. I scraped all the sauce to the side and consumed 1 of the 2 served. Within 3 minutes the main course was served as well. Huge fail with timing, not allowing my appetizer to be fully enjoyed prior to main course coming out. The ribs were tender, moist, and flavorful. I was unable to finish everything. I asked if she could package up the remaining food for me that I was unable to finish. This is a service that I appreciate and expect at any quality restaurant that I chose to dine at. Her response was "you want ME to do that ?" Feeling uncomfortable, as if my request was unreasonable, I responded you or anyone else. If I'm spending $87 for 1 person I feel it's the finishing touch for any respectable restaurant to provide their customers. Decent food at inflated prices with sub par service. I tipped 20% regardless. She forgot to return my card. So I had to wait for her to service the rest of the bar, before I could remind her that I still needed my card....

A huge five-star thank you to The Burrow TC for an absolutely fantastic dining experience for our group reservation anniversary dinner! From start to finish, we felt incredibly well taken care of, and the food, cocktails and service were all superb.

First, a special shout-out to Lauren, who was a huge help with our group reservation especially since we were booking our reservation from out of state. She made the process seamless and ensured our group had a wonderful experience. The food and cocktails were beyond delicious and a real highlight of our Traverse City visit. The menu offered something for everyone, and each dish was beautifully presented and incredibly flavorful. The mussels and the Mediterranean halibut were some of my personal favorite dishes of the night and the coffee creme brulee was to die for! Our waiter, Matthew, deserves special recognition for his wonderful service. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and struck the perfect balance of being friendly and professional. He made our large group feel like his only table, ensuring everyone had a great time. We had an unforgettable evening thanks to the excellent food, fantastic drinks, and the outstanding service from all of the staff. We can't wait to come back the next time we are in Traverse City and highly recommend The Burrow TC to anyone looking for a top-tier...

The food here was some of the best I have had in TC, seriously incredible, and the vibe was equally great! Seriously - if you like chicken caeser salads, you need to try the chicken caeser cutlet sandwich. Unfortunately, our server, Nicki, left a negative impression. We ordered chocolate chip pancakes, but they came out plain. When we politely mentioned it, she insisted we had not asked for chocolate chips, even though everyone at our table heard us. Later, when I asked for a to go box and a small condiment cup, she began talking over me to ask others if they needed boxes and then forgot the condiment cup entirely. When I asked again, she sighed, rolled her eyes, and sharply said “okay.” It felt unnecessarily dismissive and made the experience uncomfortable, she had an attitude from the start but these were the stand outs. I still highly recommend this spot for the amazing food and atmosphere, but the service is worth a quick heads up.
