We found Mighty Fine Donuts while searching for coffee shops on Maps. Since Guides can be pretty critical, we were impressed to see so many glowing reviews and a solid 4-star rating -- so we hopped in the car to check it out.
The case was full of tempting choices, and everything looked amazing. The maple cream donut was absolute heaven -- the glaze had just the right touch of maple to balance the thick, tender dough. The edges were perfectly crispy, and the texture was unlike any donut I've ever had. The glazed twist was equally delicious.
The coffee was very good, though a little too hot to enjoy right away. The only real downside was the lack of seating -- no tables or chairs inside, despite the large open lobby, and no benches outside either. We ended up eating in the car.
That said, the donuts were so good we went back in for more. Definitely worth the stop! It was so good, we brought friends with us the following morning because donuts this good need to be shared with friends. And best of all...maybe prices were insanely cheap!!! No wonder people were walking out with two and...
Read moreThese donuts have gone through at gradual systemic change over the past 20 years. I used to love eating these donuts as the taste was delicious. But now it seems like I'm eating a ball of dough and a gallon of sugar in each bite. I mean d_mn. Their products are so darn sweet that I can't even enjoy eating them anymore. I don't know what they are doing but this donut shop is contributing greatly to the obesity and the diabetes of probably half of the Erie population. Sugar sugar sugar sugar sugar sugar.... That's all I taste in their donuts and in their pastries. Just being truthful here. It's a shame because 20/30 years ago when I used to walk to St John's school I used to buy a donut every day as a kid since 1974 and they were so good, but over the years it's become a mighty fine Willy Wonka's sugar factory. That's what they are selling now....sugar. and I'm sorry I can't afford to pay nearly $2 for a half a cup of sugar and some dough. I'll need early dentures, and an enema a week for life. Or a bowel bypass in an alley. Or some brimstone-n-peppermint mouthwash without the...

I am addressing you white lady if you do not like dealing with people or listening to questions and you are crazy to leave that you were left 45 minutes to leave do it and a big favor to everyone stay in your house and take social security...people like that put others like me off ever...
