We found Mighty Fine Donuts while searching for coffee shops on Maps. Since Guides can be pretty critical, we were impressed to see so many glowing reviews and a solid 4-star rating -- so we hopped in the car to check it out.

The case was full of tempting choices, and everything looked amazing. The maple cream donut was absolute heaven -- the glaze had just the right touch of maple to balance the thick, tender dough. The edges were perfectly crispy, and the texture was unlike any donut I've ever had. The glazed twist was equally delicious.

The coffee was very good, though a little too hot to enjoy right away. The only real downside was the lack of seating -- no tables or chairs inside, despite the large open lobby, and no benches outside either. We ended up eating in the car.

That said, the donuts were so good we went back in for more. Definitely worth the stop! It was so good, we brought friends with us the following morning because donuts this good need to be shared with friends. And best of all...maybe prices were insanely cheap!!! No wonder people were walking out with two and...

These donuts have gone through at gradual systemic change over the past 20 years. I used to love eating these donuts as the taste was delicious. But now it seems like I'm eating a ball of dough and a gallon of sugar in each bite. I mean d_mn. Their products are so darn sweet that I can't even enjoy eating them anymore. I don't know what they are doing but this donut shop is contributing greatly to the obesity and the diabetes of probably half of the Erie population. Sugar sugar sugar sugar sugar sugar.... That's all I taste in their donuts and in their pastries. Just being truthful here. It's a shame because 20/30 years ago when I used to walk to St John's school I used to buy a donut every day as a kid since 1974 and they were so good, but over the years it's become a mighty fine Willy Wonka's sugar factory. That's what they are selling now....sugar. and I'm sorry I can't afford to pay nearly $2 for a half a cup of sugar and some dough. I'll need early dentures, and an enema a week for life. Or a bowel bypass in an alley. Or some brimstone-n-peppermint mouthwash without the...

My first time from the outside everything looks very good until I walk inside, I go to a very, very kind black lady and I ask her several questions since it is my first time in this place where my wife and I were interested because I have been in erie pa since 2021 and I have never seen a place like this where you can buy sweets, coffee and bread even if it is brought from another place........ but during the conversation with the black lady to specify a white lady jumps on me and almost hits me with a box of donuts that she throws on top of the glass display case and I move away so as not to get in the way and the white lady runs over the lady with words and raising her voice and speaks to her in a bad way and asks for help and she comes out again with more abuse ...... I am addressing you white lady if you do not like dealing with people or listening to questions and you are crazy to leave that you were left 45 minutes to leave do it and a big favor to everyone stay in your house and take social security...people like that put others like me off ever...

Torn on this. The doughnuts were GREAT. Soft, moist, and delicious. Really happy we stopped for that treat. But my gosh the woman behind the counter was horrible. I try not to judge because I don't know what anyone is going through at any time, but she couldn't care less that someone came in to buy something. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with an extremely curt, "What do you want?" When we replied, "We're thinking some doughnuts," she just said, "how many?" Then the phone rang and she said, "hold on" and walked away. Came back: "what do you want?" Then she was short with us the rest of the time, grumpily counting down each time we picked. I was going to order a coffee, but figured she didn't want us there. Again: doughnuts were AMAZING, but the service was abysmal. I hope that the woman is ok and whatever was upsetting her and making her short with us takes a turn for the better.

Mighty Fine Donuts lives up to its name in every way. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a spotless environment and the warm smiles of a team that truly cares about your experience. The workers are always incredibly friendly, helpful, and quick to make you feel like a regular—whether it's your first visit or your hundredth. The real star of the show, of course, is the donuts. Fresh, flavorful, and consistently delicious, each bite reminds you why Mighty Fine has become a beloved local favorite. Whether you're grabbing a dozen for the office or just stopping in for a morning treat, you won’t be disappointed. Clean, welcoming, and consistently outstanding—this place is everything a donut shop should be. I highly recommend Mighty Fine Donuts to anyone in or passing through Erie County. It's more than just a donut shop—it's a local gem.
