I've been going to Urbaniaks since I moved to this area 20 years ago. You can't ask for a better selection or higher quality. However, today, when I reached for a number at the counter I was met with a very unpleasant worker who rolled her eyes at me and shouted that I didn't need a number. The fish counter was closed, so I asked her if there was any smoked salmon she rolled her eyes and left. She came back, but not to me. So, I walked to the other side of the store to see what she had. She had three pieces and I picked one, priced that over $30. When I got in line to pay I was met with a different employee who was shouting numbers and was extremely unpleasant, including just yelling "anybody?!" when we looked confused about what was happening. I was told I didn't need a number at one place and then demanded that I needed a number to pay? It's always been an unorganized mosh pit in there, but if you're going to treat people this way on top of it it's no longer acceptable to me. Everyone just behaved as though they were so disgusted that they had to interact with the public. Rather than giving the staff members the same attitude they were giving me, I decided it was a better option to place my order on top of the deli case and leave. I'll take my business elsewhere.
You might have high quality food, but if you continue to take your customers for granted and treat them like garbage, they'll go somewhere else. I know that's what I'm...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband visited this market in Erie and made a $70 purchase. Our debit card was charged $7000. I canāt pay the mortgage now, waiting for their void to go through. I may have to dispute it through the bank, smh. One zero mistake, ok. Two zero mistake, wtf. Obviously not about the quality of the meat. That was fine, just a week of stress. **Edit, my husband spoke to the manager, he was apologetic, and friendly, but states their PNC account did not receive the payment. Bank of America, our bank, shows it cleared and went to their account, and I uploaded that photo. Iām really hoping this isnāt a 6 month ordeal or court case. **Second edit-we finally got the $ back today. Only took 21 days to get back what they took in 3 seconds. No complaints about the products, but this definitely caused an issue. I had late fees. I donāt think we were charged the $70 for the purchase, but thatās fair considering...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf you arenāt making regular trips to Urbaniakās for Herb & Honeyās amazing array of baked goods, you are missing out and you should immediately place an order. My wife and I tried them months back and weāve never looked back. We now order every week and the quality is always amazing.
While i canāt speak highly enough of their homemade PopTarts, their variety of stuffed pretzels, their breads, bear claws, and croissants, itās even more impossible to speak more highly of the lovely young couple who run this amazing hidden gem. Jessica and Dan Are bright and brilliant, but theyāre also kind, generous, conscientious, welcoming, and as talented as they are hard-working. They and their business are a profoundly underappreciated asset to Erie. Give yourself a treat by giving them your business. Iām so glad I did, and I love going in to see them once a week....
