Scottie's Diner Etowah TN — Restaurant in Etowah

I don't like to give places less than 5 stars, so I will at least give them 4 stars. I will also add that when we came it was the day of the eclipse, so it was busy. When we walked in, we only waited a few minutes for a table, which was great. We sat down and ordered our drinks. Our waitress said she was new, which was hard for her on this high volume day. So we tried to be patient. She did her best, so we were thankful for that. We ordered our food and it took an hour to get 1 biscuit with gravy, fried okra, a baked potato, and french toast. The food was pretty good. The amount of time it took to get our drinks and food was a little frustrating. I feel like the manager could have helped instead of standing around. We had been traveling all day, so we were pretty exhausted and hungry. I am not sure we will go back. I heard it was under new management, so I am not sure how it used to be. Well, I must say that me and my wife joked about this place about how it was probably a horrible place to eat at and decided before we moved from Etowah Friday 6/1/18 that we have to visit this place... I would like to apologize to myself and my family for not coming sooner. We visited last night 5/31/18, excellent food, excellent and very friendly staff. My 6 year old dropped his hamburger on the floor and they were quick at replacing his burger and was very gracious for that. I must say me and my family were very happy and impressed at this small town restaurant and regret that we didn't come sooner. Let me just say I had never eaten at Scottie's Dinner before and can only comment on this 1 meal. The employees were very friendly and we were seated quickly with menu's and flatware ready for us after a few minutes our drinks and order was taken. We both ordered Hamburgers and fries and let me tell you those were real hand patted beef patties fresh not frozen patties out of a box from the Freezer. You get 2 patties on a bun with whatever fixings you like and that was the best burger I have eaten in years and let me tell ya I've been around a while. Oh!
