I usually only leave a review for a place if I'm really impressed. Unfortunately, this is not the case today. My son and I wanted to get something to eat on our way home today, and I had read good reviews for this deli. I was not in the mood to cook due to a really bad headache. I was really looking forward to some onion rings, but they did not have any, or no longer serve them. My son ordered the bacon cheeseburger, and I the breakfast burrito. I asked for light gravy and fries on the side. We both ordered the orange creamsicle float, which was amazing! When we got home we sat down to eat. There was no bacon on the bacon cheeseburger. The second bite I took of my burrito had eggshell in it, so I opened it up, and noticed the egg did not look fully cooked (a bit runny), and no bacon in my burrito either. Half of the fries were burned, but I was able to eat about 5-6. I'm giving 3 stars for service, because although the woman did accommodate my requests, she made me feel like I was taking too much time to order. Mind you, this was my first time stepping foot in this deli. I paid over $35 to be disappointed. The only reason I will go back is for the orange...
Read moreThe people were pretty cool, and that's the only reason I'm not giving this 1 star. As far as the food goes... Wow. Not good at all.
The reuben had soggy bread and a very thin layer of corned beef. Not anywhere near the amount you'd expect. The quality of the meat seemed okay, but it was stacked about a half inch thick. No cheese, no sauerkraut, no sauce. I felt like I was just eating oily bread with a thin spread of meat.
I also got a breakfast burrito that was just all kinds of weird. It was about 50% of this weird creamy flavorless sauce, about 25% egg that seemed like it was scraped from the bottom of a pan, 15% sausage, and 10% bacon (maybe?)
The only thing I didn't throw away were the fries.
Not sure if I caught them on an off day or something, but it was not at all what I expected from the high reviews. The ingredients all seemed fine... Just feels like it was all put together with minimal effort and completely arbitrary proportions.
Not interested in eating here again. And I actually...
Read moreWas looking through all the spots on maps for breakfast, and saw this place a few blocks away from me. Decided to go in early, check out what I THOUGHT was a shady lottery spot like all the others around here
I was wrong. There was a full menu done colorfully in chalk, all sorts of Hollywood memorabilia on the walls, and only a small entrance to a couple lottery machines, nothing crazy.
Their kitchen looked expansive.
I got a couple of the ham and cheese sandwiches, added an egg to them because it was early. The food itself was above average, particularly in light of what I had thought the spot originally was. Bread was ultra soft, meat was good, right amount of sauce with lettuce and tomato/onion.
Worth the money. I think I forgot to tip the woman, but will for sure next time, which will be soon.
Edit November 2023: Try the Hawaiian Ham and Cheese! Hold the brown mustard, an excellent...
