Benny's Westside — Restaurant in Eureka

My dad is in the nursing home and for his birthday we ordered him take out from Benny's. He and I both got the country fried steak, and my son got a burger. We all know the CF steaks would have been best if not steamed in a foam box, but dang if it wasn't still great despite the circumstances. I can't say I've ever had a CFSteak that wasn't greasy, until now. It was perfect, and so tender. My son finished his burger so it must have been good too.

My dad has started getting picky because his taste buds don't work as well as they used to, so it's hard to impress him. He ranted and raved all evening about how good it was. He was so impressed that he wanted to order lunch the next day. He and I both got Reubens and my son got a patty melt. We got the fried potato chips and they were heaven. There was nothing left but three empty boxes when we got done. Their 1000 island is also delicious.

Both times the staff there at the bar where I picked up and paid for my food was beyond sweet. I have zero complaints about either of my experiences here. It's a cozy small town bar a grill with great food and friendly people.

It looks like I've found a new place to get food when I come visit my dad. I'm just so thrilled he loves it, as it's harder and harder to find things he really enjoys eating these days. Thanks Benny's for giving us a birthday dinner with my dad that he...

Food: ate a couple times. Good food, good service, decent price.

Lodging: big room (double bedroom), internet is atrocious and centrally located (further from the bar worse the signal). Rooms are too expensive for overall quality, and owners/staff determined that it was appropriate to have a loud, drunken-screaming party on a Monday night from at least 10p, when I got home and could witness, to at least 11:30p, when I'm writing this. Good way to sleep after a 14 hour shift.

Solid, nice, pleasant, welcoming ... We found Benny's as we drove around looking for a place for dinner, and greatly enjoyed a (slightly wind-whipped) beer and a hamburger (one of us) and a reuben (the other of us). Both were made fresh, and both were tasty. There was nothing that changed my world in the food, but it was good nonetheless... Clearly a local joint, as we were the only people there who did not seem to know everyone else there, but everyone was friendly and...
