Rhinehart's Oyster Bar — Restaurant in Evans

Let me start off by saying, I give the food an absolute 5!! The food has always been delicious & my husband & I are regulars. The customer service of one particular individual, Tammy, who does take out/deliver orders receives a 0 star!! I am appalled by the lack of customer service I received over the phone from Tammy. I ordered delivery through Rhineharts takeout service called “direct order”. A hour passes, no food. I check my receipt to find a point of contact which it says to contact Rhineharts directly for any delivery issues. I call, Tammy answers. I explain how I haven’t received my order. Without letting me finish my sentence, she proceeds to say that 3 people have come to pick it up but don’t leave with it. I’m confused as to why this is happening as I know the tip couldn’t have been an issue because I always tip. Tammy says that I need to call uber eats or doordash, that they don’t have anything to do with the delivery. I’m even more confused now because I didn’t place through any of those carries so I hang up & double check my receipt again to see whom should I contact. Once again, direct order says to contact Rhineharts directly for delivery issues. I call again, Tammy answers & I ask her why did the drivers not leave with the orders? She says she doesn’t know & repeatedly says I need to contact contact uber eats. I informed her that the order was not placed through uber eats but I went directly to Rhineharts website & placed through Direct Order on their site & my receipt says contact the restaurant for all delivery issues so that’s what I’m doing. She proceeds to say they don’t handle the delivery, I need to call Google, etc. So I informed her to let her manager know that the delivery service they are using isn’t working & it’s telling me to contact the restaurant if I don’t receive my order which is what I’m doing. Ms. Tammy says “I don’t need to do anything, I’m not about to argue with you about this” & then hangs up in my face. Fast fwd, 20 min later I receive a text with a apology about my delivery then another 20 min later I receive my food. The food was still decent despite me receiving it 2 hours after I placed the order. My main issue is the way Tammy handled the situation & hung up in my face without even discussing with the manager the issue at hand. Maybe she should work elsewhere such as in the kitchen, instead of directly...

I swear I try to love this place because the food is great…. BUT it lacks great service!… even mediocre service at best! After a long work week, my best friend and I decided to meet up for drinks and dinner because this location is the halfway point from each of our houses. We get there at 6:00 and of course they are busy (to be expected). We waited a while for a spot at the bar or a table and when it was apparent that nothing would be available anytime soon, we decided to sit outside. There were a few people out there and our waitress came to take our drink and food order. I told her I had a to-go order but would order after we got our meal. She brought our drinks and that was the last we ever saw of her (except for when she came to apologize) after we were done and just wanted our checks. We watched her as we ate our meal wait on the tables inside as she completely forgot about us. We had no drinks (not even water) our entire meal. We didn’t get any of the sauces we asked for…. Well of course not… we were completely forgotten about. I know my review won’t detour anyone from going and honestly the food is great…. But the management needs to do better with the service. It is ALWAYS hit or miss here. You will NEVER get consistent service. We didn’t want anything free and never asked for a manager (we’re not Karen’s), but after we complained to our waitress about completely being ignored, she should have at the very least sent the manager over to us or knocked something off our meal. She explained that they were short staffed and apologized, but that meant absolutely nothing to us…. Just say, “Im sorry, I forgot about yall” and that would have been better than all the excuses she was trying to give us. It may be a while before we attempt to go back….. I never placed that to-go order because I didn’t get the opportunity…. Bad service… enough said! This establishment has a unique and intersting feel to its decor. It's aims for the beach side surfer hut feel and pulls it off fairly well.

The menu is mostly target around fish or chicken. But the food is really good and if you like catfish this is the place for you. You will get a good sized helping of friend catfish with your order. They do have outdoor and indoor seating so you can pick based on your preference. There is also a bar inside so you can have a cocktail with your meal I'd you should so chose. The staff was friendly and welcoming which is always a plus. The only down fall with the food here is the French fries. They come out Luke warm but a little over cooked. Your deffiently not getting fresh fries with your order it's more like fries that were cooked in mass and then left under a warming lamp until they were needed.

There menus will tell you the story behind the establishment of the restaurant which exposes abd interesting fun fact. According to the establishments back story the original founders determined a set number of golden rules for a successful restaurant. One of them according to the back story is if you keep most of your menu items priced under 14.00 dollars you will increase your business because men and women will bring their spouces there to eat as well. What's funny about that is when you look at their menu now most of of it is priced over 14.00 dollars. But you must keep in mind the inflation from when this restaurant was established like 2 decades ago to now probably accounts for the discrepancy in the story in the menu and current day prices. But it was still funny to note that contradiction.
