Manna Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Evansville

We order takeouts from the Manna Grill often but recently we felt both their quality and quantity has being going down. We bought a takeout dinner with small Greek salad as a side. Usually their salad olives do not have any pits which is also a common practice in the restaurant industry. Looks like they had a cost cutting initiative recently (even the humus was less than what they usually give), and they put in the cheap olives with pits in the salad. Unfortunately, they did not bother to inform us and my wife almost chipped her tooth while biting on it since she wasn’t expecting it. Not everything halal. Be careful. They had to remove the shawarma from my platter after realizing that I am asking halal food strictly. They said it was not halal that’s why they had to take it out from the plate. That’s why I cannot say that everything is halal and I am also not sure if they pay attention to halal rules when cooking. Probably my food was already contaminated with non-halal food. If it’s not halal don’t sell it, if you are selling non halal then warn people when they are ordering and don’t mixed up their halal food with non halal food, don’t even let them to touch each other. This was a fairly decent restaurant. The food was above average, yet plentiful. I thought the price was a little high.

Perhaps my expectations were too high since the last Mediterranean food I had was very good.

The restaurant had many take-out orders while we were there. Not many dine-in people were there. Very small seating area, perhaps 30-40 persons capable.

The staff was very nice and helpful. You had to order at the counter.

Though good, I probably will not return again. Most likely, because of the distance, I live away from this location.
