We came here on Friday afternoon as a group of 11. We called ahead to make a reservation, and requested one seat to be a high chair. Let me just say that the food was excellent; everyone liked what they ordered. That being said, we will not be back, as our service was probably the worst I’ve had in the past decade at least. When we first arrived, we saw that there was coloring supplies for children, which we requested for the toddler that we had with us (who knows how to color). They declined to provide that, and told us that she was too young & might put the markers in her mouth, which was very presumptuous of them to assume that we wouldn’t be able to adequately supervise our own child. Throughout the meal, we didn’t get served one time (apart from them bringing out the food when it was ready), without having to find and wave down our server. We didn’t get a single refill of our water or soft drinks. The major issues, however, were when we received the check. Neither when we made the reservation, nor when we arrived at the restaurant, were we informed that we wouldn’t be able to split our checks. The check was dropped off with no explanation or attempt to communicate anything. We had to wait and wave down our server again to ask about splitting up the check, as we had 5 different parties. We understand that may be difficult & were prepared to split it 3 ways, but even though we were first told that we could do the check “however we wanted,” our server then said that she could only split the check into equal amounts, then promptly left again. We had to sit there, write out who ordered what & what went on each person’s check, and calculate the tax manually. I find it difficult to believe that in 2025 they don’t have the technology to split checks, and it was just handled so rudely. We had a fussy baby, people who were on a strict time schedule & had to waste 15 minutes doing all of this. A simple communication at the beginning would have allowed us to figure this all out ahead of time, perhaps requesting to be on separate checks up front so they could be rung in from the start. We were never one time rude and we did not complain, we simply asked questions & may have seemed confused, as I have never been to a restaurant where this was an issue. In addition, when we were reviewing the receipt, we discovered that we had been charged for an extra drink, and for a side of sour cream that never was brought out. When we asked the server to fix this, she was irritated & argued with us that the sour cream was brought out, until the person who had ordered it themself confirmed they never received it. They had to get a manager to fix the receipt, which took a while, and then when our server brought the corrected receipt over, she tried to leave after we confirmed it was correct, even though we had a credit card sitting right on the table in front of her to take, and we had to call her back again, at which point we were running late. The only reason I am even writing a review, is because we felt uncomfortable, due to the staring and whispering about us taking place. It became evident that our server was irritated by the split check request, irritated when we took the time to calculate everything ourselves, irritated when we found the mistakes, irritated when we wanted to pay. As someone who works in the restaurant service industry myself, I can give a lot of grace, but I don’t appreciate being treated like our presence isn’t wanted. It’s too bad, as we’ve been here in previous years with smaller groups, and been able to split checks & be accommodated, but we will not be...
