We came here on Friday afternoon as a group of 11. We called ahead to make a reservation, and requested one seat to be a high chair. Let me just say that the food was excellent; everyone liked what they ordered. That being said, we will not be back, as our service was probably the worst I’ve had in the past decade at least. When we first arrived, we saw that there was coloring supplies for children, which we requested for the toddler that we had with us (who knows how to color). They declined to provide that, and told us that she was too young & might put the markers in her mouth, which was very presumptuous of them to assume that we wouldn’t be able to adequately supervise our own child. Throughout the meal, we didn’t get served one time (apart from them bringing out the food when it was ready), without having to find and wave down our server. We didn’t get a single refill of our water or soft drinks. The major issues, however, were when we received the check. Neither when we made the reservation, nor when we arrived at the restaurant, were we informed that we wouldn’t be able to split our checks. The check was dropped off with no explanation or attempt to communicate anything. We had to wait and wave down our server again to ask about splitting up the check, as we had 5 different parties. We understand that may be difficult & were prepared to split it 3 ways, but even though we were first told that we could do the check “however we wanted,” our server then said that she could only split the check into equal amounts, then promptly left again. We had to sit there, write out who ordered what & what went on each person’s check, and calculate the tax manually. I find it difficult to believe that in 2025 they don’t have the technology to split checks, and it was just handled so rudely. We had a fussy baby, people who were on a strict time schedule & had to waste 15 minutes doing all of this. A simple communication at the beginning would have allowed us to figure this all out ahead of time, perhaps requesting to be on separate checks up front so they could be rung in from the start. We were never one time rude and we did not complain, we simply asked questions & may have seemed confused, as I have never been to a restaurant where this was an issue. In addition, when we were reviewing the receipt, we discovered that we had been charged for an extra drink, and for a side of sour cream that never was brought out. When we asked the server to fix this, she was irritated & argued with us that the sour cream was brought out, until the person who had ordered it themself confirmed they never received it. They had to get a manager to fix the receipt, which took a while, and then when our server brought the corrected receipt over, she tried to leave after we confirmed it was correct, even though we had a credit card sitting right on the table in front of her to take, and we had to call her back again, at which point we were running late. The only reason I am even writing a review, is because we felt uncomfortable, due to the staring and whispering about us taking place. It became evident that our server was irritated by the split check request, irritated when we took the time to calculate everything ourselves, irritated when we found the mistakes, irritated when we wanted to pay. As someone who works in the restaurant service industry myself, I can give a lot of grace, but I don’t appreciate being treated like our presence isn’t wanted. It’s too bad, as we’ve been here in previous years with smaller groups, and been able to split checks & be accommodated, but we will not be...

Everytime I go to this location I have horrible service and rude waiters, they either completely ignore you or mess up your order. Today I just left there while we were eating we place a to go order to go to take home to my mom, they forgot about it and never placed it! So after waiting over half hour for the order to come I asked our server where it is? He said it was never put in and that he didn't know about it because I asked another server because that server because he ignored us the entire time we were there! He states I should have asked him to put in our order because he is our server and the other server does not speak English, I said I would have if you were around you I've seen you twice in the last hour I have had to ask your co works for everything we have needed! So after the order comes out he said sorry it was there mistake and the order was on them l, as I'm walking out the door he confronts me in front of everyone waiting in line to be seated and says you still need to pay for this order and I said you just said this order is free because you guys messed up and he says I change my mind how humiliating and embarrassing! I have tried giving them multiple chances obviously this location is not...

1st time here and I will be back! We were warmly greeted and seated at an outdoor table, they immediately apologized that 9ne of the heaters had broken and said that as soon as another table opened up they would move us. A table opened just as they brought our chips and salsa so they cleaned and disinfected the open table and chairs and resat us. It was so relaxing and so nice to be able to just hang out and enjoy a meal out. The food was excellent. I ordered something I had never seen before - a burrito bowl. It was perfect and absolutely delicious. It comes with rice, but I didn't want rice so they happily substituted extra pico. It was a beautiful presentation and tasted delicious as well. So much food that I couldn't even it it all. The service was very attentive, but not overbearing in any way, it really was the perfect blend. They also kept the chips and salsa coming and kept my water glass full. It really was an amazing experience and I would suggest you give them a try.

Went here the other night after having not gone in a long time. Ordered carne asada. It came not very warm and the rice was dried out and clumpy. My bf's tacos showed up with one greasy soaked tortilla for each taco. He sent it back for a re-make. Some of the chips were stale also. My daughter had dropped her toy under the table. When we were done eating I looked under the table for her toy. There in between the seats of the booth was a nice sized space with LOTS of old food ( mostly chips) in the crack. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. I lost my appetite to come back any time soon. Seemed better when they were in the other building across the street. I'll stick with Tampico from now on. Also, find it weird La Palmera doesn't respond to reviews. Seems like the restaurants who are concerned that customers are happy respond to both positive and negative reviews.
