Tienda El Ranchito — Restaurant in Fairmont City

We have been here prior to our experience today. We had a modest sized group. We had to wait to be seated, which was fine. Once seated, we were given stale chips. It took over an hour for our food to be ready. We wasted our afternoon here. Our waiter was inattentive, and we had to watch other tables who arrived long after us, be served BEFORE us. We had 3 young children in our group today. This was UNACCEPTABLE. We will NOT be returning, and we will urge our family and friends to do the same. It is a drive for us to go to El Ranchito. It was truly a waste of time and fuel expenses. What a disappointment.

Update We returned to give the restaurant one more try this past weekend. It was nearly empty. We had poor service and we were crammed into a small space for our large group. The bathroom was not stocked- we had to call this to the staff's attention. The food was fine, until later that evening. Some of the members of our party got ill...

Food wasn't that great. Took way too long to get our food and it was off the menu and it was not complicated. Made it clear when a couple came in and got their food as soon as we got ours but we were already sitting for 45 mins. Food wasn't fresh and rather cold but were being watched like a hawk to make sure we paid for it. Me and my family didn't complain but won't be back. The vibe was already set in stone from that. Imagine having to explain to young adults why this type of service was given to a place we bragged on. Me and my wife have been here plenty of times. They don't have the same cook. Menu changed for the worse as well. It is what it is though. Lesson learned. Go where you are wanted. $90+ of food purchased as well. Horchata was good...

I'm not really into Mexican food but it was okay food wise. My wife suggested this place and the service was awful and slow. It wasn't like that the first time she went according to her but the service was so slow that we ended up leaving. They said they were short staffed but I definitely felt some type of way. Especially when people who arrived at least 20 minutes after us were served before us. 30 minutes to see a waiter to even get drinks (soda), about a hour to get food only for them to say they ran out of chicken. My wife never received her meal & my daughter only received half of her meal. We were asked to reorder but we were just ready to go. I won't be going back but again the food isn't bad...
