We ate at the Bean Town Grill last night.
The front staff were very welcoming and set a great atmosphere. We had about a 15 minutes to get seated and there was a pretty good crowd. The restrooms were maintained and clean. The high chair for our daughter was clean as well as the table.
We got linguini with shrimp, brisket mac n cheese, and the 8 oz filet mignon. We had both of the soups and a salad for sides. The Mac n Cheese had a great date. The brisket was a a little tough. The linguini had a great taste, but the shrimp was overcooked and chewy. The steak was cooked well and was very salty. The soups tasted good.
The young waiter we had committed to two things that he had to come back and say he was sorry and would not do. We asked if we could sub the bacon that was in the description for the steak for mushrooms instead. He said yes, but had to tell us that they told him they couldn’t do it and would be up charged. We also asked if they had a military discount, he said yes, and then had to tell us he was sorry that they don’t. Also, when he brought our hot coffee and soups, he set them without n reach of our toddler. All these are things that just seemed like a...
Read moreVery clean, beautifully decorated restaurant with lovely landscapes and clean bathrooms. The food was disappointing. My wife ordered the Brisket Mac and Cheese. She started in on it and kept pulling chunks of fat out. There was some meat on the fat but it was mostly fat. I brought this up to our very helpful server and she took it back. She returned with the plate explaining that it was brisket and brisket has fat on it. I have smoked several briskets and would agree that brisket includes fat. Before I placed meat in another DISH, I would remove the fat so that people were eating meat in the dish and not fat LOL. Our server was very helpful in changing out for a different entree. The second dish was good! I ordered the black and blu burger. It was OK, not awesome. The burger patty texture suggested it was a frozen food service patty and not fresh ground beef. I was surprised to see a separate charge of $2.50 for my French fries. I wasn't told they would be extra and we're definitely not worth $2.50. Who charges extra for fries...
Read moreOverall it was very good food except for the Chicken Caprese “flat bread”sandwich. We ordered the Jack Daniels Steak and the Walleye fish, as well as the flat bread sandwich. The Steak was delicious and tender, although there was not a sauce or Jack Daniels flavor. The Walleye was broiled and came with lemon and melted butter. I found it tender and delicious but my girlfriend didn’t like it as much as I did. Both meals came with the delicious side of fresh asparagus. The chicken caprice flatbread sandwich was awful. It came in a pita bread wrap, it looks nothing like a flat bread sandwich. The chicken inside was tough and stringy and it had very little flavor. We did not eat it and sent it back telling them we didn’t like it. We still got charged for it, maybe that was because we ate the potato chips that came with it, which by the way we’re homemade and delicious. To finish our meal we had a half baked chocolate chip cookie dessert and that was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant but not the...
