Good food at reasonable prices, but they only take cash, no credit or debit cards, they do have an ATM inside for your convenience. If you're looking for an affordable place, with a decent amount of American favorites like burgers, fries, meatloaf, biscuits and gravy, just to name a few.. than this is the place to go, if you're in the area. The service was good, but the waitress made a mistake on our order, we asked for scrambled eggs and she gave us over easy, we just let it go. I don't recommend the cream of mushroom soup, it was all lumpy with small flour balls. The place is clean but very dated and the parking lot is gravel, when you go inside it's like stepping back to the 1970's or early 1980's.

What a great find on the way to Chicago, seat yourself in the restaurant and our server was over as soon as she was able, menus and special offers were explained ,we had coffee while finding our meal choices, great choices there are too ,food was great from start to finish we had no complaints with anything , Location 10 Staff 10 Food 11 Coffee 12 Everything and everyone was top notch ,great job thank you all.

Early morning meeting with a colleague. Great place for conversation and business chat. I ordered the Denver Skillet. Came out fast, hot and was VERY tasty!! Eggs were cooked perfectly. Waitress was very nice and checked in just enough. Pro tip - swap out green peppers for jalapeños on your menu item if appropriate.

Norma's food is good but you should appreciate all customers. Just because it's busy doesn't mean you start neglecting your customers. Norma's Cafe has been around for years and you should know how to deal with customers even when Norma's is busy. I have sat inside several times and ate. If you cannot take the time out on the phone to understand a order and get frustrated because it has to be repeated than you should not take phone orders. It's important to have the right order. It's rude, disrepectful and unprofessional for you to even say to a customer when they have called back after you have hung up on them "yes I hung up because we're busy". For the hispanic lady that answered the phone both times maybe next time you can try to take the time out to understand the person order if you can take the time out to answer the phone while so busy. Norma's Cafe you have earned the Stupified award. Louis Family Restaurant is just as busy on Jefferson street in Joliet, Il. Louis has great breakfast items along with lunch and dinner items and defiantly appreciates their customers in the restaurant and on the phone. The owners are wonderful people and they all work hard together as a family that know it's the customers that make the business continue to grow. Take some notes from Louis Family Restaurant in Joliet, IL on Jefferson street.. I'm sure they will take the time out to give you some tips...

First of all...we are not in the 24th century...it's the 21st. But I'm positive if she's not taking credit cards it'd because they charge astronomical fees for small businesses like Normas to even maintain the accounts every month. It's like $1,500 or more at times to just have a merchant account to be able to take credit cards. Then if you don't get the business you've wasted all that money. But that's not even counting the fees for each card Swiped! So before you judge...carry a few dollars cash if you want to try some southern real cooking. This is a small mom & pop type of restaurant...the food is good homecooked food....however, if you have any type of heart issues don't eat here...because there is a lot of great greasy cooked foods. It's actually quite clean for as much grease that comes out of that kitchen. But if you love some real tasting bacon...some real tasting food, not processed...just real southern food...eat at Normas. Just be prepared for a bit of indigestion....Cus the grease will get ya if you aren't used to...
