Norma's food is good but you should appreciate all customers. Just because it's busy doesn't mean you start neglecting your customers. Norma's Cafe has been around for years and you should know how to deal with customers even when Norma's is busy. I have sat inside several times and ate. If you cannot take the time out on the phone to understand a order and get frustrated because it has to be repeated than you should not take phone orders. It's important to have the right order. It's rude, disrepectful and unprofessional for you to even say to a customer when they have called back after you have hung up on them "yes I hung up because we're busy". For the hispanic lady that answered the phone both times maybe next time you can try to take the time out to understand the person order if you can take the time out to answer the phone while so busy. Norma's Cafe you have earned the Stupified award. Louis Family Restaurant is just as busy on Jefferson street in Joliet, Il. Louis has great breakfast items along with lunch and dinner items and defiantly appreciates their customers in the restaurant and on the phone. But that's not even counting the fees for each card Swiped! So before you judge...carry a few dollars cash if you want to try some southern real cooking. This is a small mom & pop type of restaurant...the food is good homecooked food....however, if you have any type of heart issues don't eat here...because there is a lot of great greasy cooked foods. It's actually quite clean for as much grease that comes out of that kitchen. But if you love some real tasting bacon...some real tasting food, not processed...just real southern food...eat at Normas. Just be prepared for a bit of indigestion....Cus the grease will get ya if you aren't used to...

If you're looking for an affordable place, with a decent amount of American favorites like burgers, fries, meatloaf, biscuits and gravy, just to name a few.. than this is the place to go, if you're in the area. The service was good, but the waitress made a mistake on our order, we asked for scrambled eggs and she gave us over easy, we just let it go. I don't recommend the cream of mushroom soup, it was all lumpy with small flour balls. The place is clean but very dated and the parking lot is gravel, when you go inside it's like stepping back to the 1970's or...
