Someday I am going to work up the courage to eat at Celebrities and when I do, I promise to edit this review and at the very least adjust the star level.... I really hope the food is good.... but dude... I'm scared.
Celebrities is the weirdest bar in Portland. I mean, it's awesome. It is just about as east side as you can get. It's a dive with 2 pool tables in great shape (could use to replace their cues or at least tips more often). They pour a mean a$$ drink on the cheap. This is the type of place you go when you have wadded up your last few fivers in your front pocket, but you ain't done yet. Those fivers'll get you more drink than most places in Portland. But the real treat at this place.... it's the god damn music. This super east county apparent bastion of whiteness... it's got soul and funk and R&B on music nights!!! If you get lucky and get in this place on a night where there is music and somebody is celebrating a birthday or something.... awwwwww damn... it's amazing!!! Seriously... head to this place on any second Saturday night of the month. Cool Breeze!! Gah!!! Oh man... just do it. Just go! I know you won't want to.. it's too far... but it's not!! it's right off the freeway. It's probably easier to get to than most hipster spots in Portland. I'll see you there. I...

It is not necessarily for being people that are looking for great food with lots of flavor. The food is not fresh. The meats are cheap cuts and extremely chewy & dry. Taste like the meat has been sitting in the freezer for years maybe you would only eat it if you are extremely drunk. And a local. Like I mentioned before it's a certain type of people that hangout here. QUESTION? Have you ever walked into an old store or restaurant and there's a smell that you can't quite pin point?. Like maybe it's old pipes or a sewage line or old refrigerators and old grease and...
Read moreI've only been here a few times the burgers are good chicken strips are just ok and so is the Chinese food nothing to go out your way for as a woman of color I was completely uncomfortable with the conversation going on at the bar as I waited for my food the down talk on Mexicans and blacks made me uncomfortable the weird part was the bartender didn't put a stop to it I believe in freedom of speech but I felt that the conversation was meant for me to hear and discrimination/ intimidation shouldn't be allowed in any place but the bartender didn't seem to mind as a business owner or a employee I would of never allowed such nasty talk in my business I don't think I'll...
